RPG Maker Forums

I know this is a long shot, but I figure it's worth a try. I have a non-RPG idea for IGMC, but to pull it off well, I would need the help of a quality artist.

Since it's for the IGMC, I really don't want to divulge details of the idea publicly, but the very basic concept is a series of quick played board games. For art what I would need would basically be a few images - maybe 3 or 4 - no larger than 640 x 480, to be used for backgrounds, that would serve as game boards.

I can't afford to hire someone for this kind of art right now, or I wouldn't be posting this, I would just, well, hire an artist. If anyone agreed to do this, it would be on the terms of going into the IGMC as a partnership, with no guarantee of any financial compensation. Any prize money, if won, would be split.

Please pm me if you are interested, with examples of your artwork.

If it's felt that I need to provide more information publicly, I will do my best to do so.

I've been trying to find any kind of samples that might help out and it's hard as if anything similar exists, I'm not sure how to search for it. But, I do have a couple of examples of art styles similar to what I would want.

I love these pieces, but they could be even a bit more realistic looking. http://ines-ka.deviantart.com/art/Items-for-allods-194705022

Also, Hirei gave me persmission to use this as an example: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c312/FireDragon_IceWolf/item_sheet_zps4ac0fec9.png

So, I'd like more realistic textures. Since these are based on ancient games, I picture natural materials such as wood, stone, marble. Simple game boards (I'd give more details if we partnered up) on neutral backgrounds of some sort.

I hope maybe that helps a bit.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
