Looking for an eye-based skill animation

Hi! I'm looking for a skill animation that just shows an eye opening and closing. If anyone knows a pre-existing animation that might fit the bill or is willing to make one, it'd be much appreciated.

i was thinking of giving this a shot.. i do love drawing and animating eyes!!

what kind of skill would the animation be used for? do you have any reference images for your game's style (is it pixel, rtp, etc)

Sure thing and thank you! The skill in question is a 'learn' style skill, one that the protagonist uses to scan enemies and also to learn their moves, blue mage style. Ideally it'd have an eye opening up behind the user's head.
The game's style is mostly RTP currently, yeah. It's in my signature if you want examples.

behind the user's head.... i'm not entirely sure how that's possible? should i leave a cutout in the middle of the eye for the user's head to fit in? or do you have a plugin that makes placing animation cels behind targets possible?

Oh, when I said 'behind' I meant behind them in the side-view battle screen, not 'behind their sprite'. Sorry for the confusion. Either way, that's a placing issue for me to settle, it's not your problem.

here's what i came up with! the anti-aliasing might not be my best work but i think it wouldn't be too noticeable if there was more going on in the screen.

Happy Friday, y'all! I just got home from work and am sitting down with a nice cider, and I'm ready to chill and enjoy myself. Not sure if I'm gonna dive into any of my game-related projects or not tonight.... we'll see how I feel after unwinding for a bit I guess!
Just found out that mint tea made from chocolate mint tastes a bit like hot cocoa with candy cane stirred in. As I'm allergic to chocolate this makes me very happy.

So Deltarune Chapter 2 is supposed to release today... if it's out already, has anyone played it? And I can't because I have a stinking Mac and not a Windows PC.
