Looking for an itemized summary of meaningful differences in MV's event system

I'm jumping into event system tutorials from VX, but looking for a well-summarized heads up about any important differences in MV. Information about new features is spread out among videos and FAQs, and the Help guide doesn't address the updates to events specifically.

Now that veterans have had some days with MV, can you offer notable differences in the event system, if anything? This would be helpful to those using previous tutorials as we can know what is still the same and what will function differently.

The only big difference with event commands is you now have a Call Plugin command before the Call Script command.

There might be a couple of others - easiest way to see is to open MV and Ace side by side and compare what's on each of the three tabs.

On Mac, so I don't have the luxury of doing a side-by-side comparison. I guess I was wondering if there were any significant differences in approach, but I think your answer about the Call Plugin answers that.

Other then a few minor changes on where a few things are located, and how some things appear.  The event commands appear to be about 99% the same.  The 1% being the few things that got moved around.

I'm actually working on a video that will include this and other changes. I'll post it after I'm done. As mentioned, events are 99% the same, so I wouldn't worry about getting confused with tutorials (and check mine out in my sig :D ). But to answer your question (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this), here are my notes:

Changes in Event Commands:

 

Select Item - can pick regular, hidden items

Show Choices - now 6 instead of 4, position/background of window

Change TP - new

Change Profile - new option to change description

 

Change Victory ME

Change Defeat ME (instead of "Battle End ME")

Change Vehicle BGM

 

Change Enemy TP

 

Plugin Command

 

Various text changes--"create else branch"

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
