I recently published my first game ever made on RPG Maker, I had some hiccups but overall I'm proud of it! Moving forward some of the things I want to do with the next game will require addons however there's so many out there I don't even know where to start! I had some ideas of what I want, but I wanted to know what addons everyone else recommends.

These are the kind of things I was looking to do:

-Combat that isn't turn based but more like Zelda, where you have to keep attacking an enemy as it attacks you.

-Global variables, managing to have multiple variables to control systems like health and hunger and dehydration.

-More options for enemy encounters. The base software has "Player Touch" options however I was looking for an option where the enemy follows you and they can interact with you for an event to happen, as appose to the player having to touch the enemy.

-Sprites being able to interact with other sprites.

-Being able to switch between characters one at a time using hotkeys.

-Addons to add more customisation to start screens, add end credits, and customisation of UI and other things.

If anyone has any useful addons I'd be very grateful to know :) Thanks!

Most if not all of this is available in the VisuStella plugins or possibly with just script calls. The ten cores are free and can be obtained from the sample project. The rest are paid, but well worth it.

About the only thing there isn't a VS plugin for is a Zelda-style ABS system, but I believe there are a couple of those for MZ.

Also:
-More options for enemy encounters. The base software has "Player Touch" options however I was looking for an option where the enemy follows you and they can interact with you for an event to happen, as appose to the player having to touch the enemy.
That's the Event Touch trigger: the event starts when it and the player collide, regardless of whose movement caused the collision.
-Being able to switch between characters one at a time using hotkeys.
Switching between characters can be evented. If you want to use keys that aren't registered by default, then you'll need a plugin that lets you define new inputs, e.g.
To connect an input with an event, you can either use the plugin's built in common event binds (if available) or a Parallel event with Conditional Branch checks.

Wanted to look through job ads and now I spent about an hour laughing about the website of a spiritual healer looking for a Marketing and IT guy. Call me oldfashioned, but I think that "healing of deceaseds" comes a little late.

Something is working in my game, and I have no idea how or why. It wasn't working yesterday. But it is now.
So we're just gonna...move on, and never, EVER, touch that passive again, lest it break.
