Any good scripts for sideview? I've seen Yanfly but don't want it because the Battlers are too big.

Even though this really is not the place to ask.

I'm gonna go ahead and help you out.

I use Victor Saints scripts.. he has a customisable animated battle system, you don't have to animate the monsters though if you don't want.. i had to figure out on my own how to use his scripts, he get's ansy when you ask anything. But he does have a manual he made to help explain his scripts.

I been tempted to at one point make an example project for people to work from.. he does not want to.. but i just worry he would get angry if he really just does not want such a thing floating around... i dunno.

But for sure, he's got some good scripts, sadly they're all a bit buggy at the moment.. some things just kinda don't work as they should, but his last update stated he's trying to work out the bugs.

Here's a link.

https://victorscripts.wordpress.com/

User Mannual for his scripts.

There are a few others but their names escape me.

Jet has one that's said to be more simple to use.. i tried using it and found it to be less comprehensive.

IE i just could not do little things i wanted to do.

Thanks, I asked here in favor of convenience since it's the popular thread on these things. Where's a link to Jet. I respect Victor's work but it kills the professional look and feel of doing business if he is ansy and gets mad as you say. Imo it's crazy to help people one way ( his scripts ) yet not help or get fed up by people asking questions. You don't get to pick and choose what people need help in. IF your going to help, fix and DO everything that comes with helping people otherwise don't place yourself in a position your unable to manage. It's unprofessional to refuse to help someone just because they ask questions, it WILL effect how put vew you later and I've been on Victor's website before, I read how he responsed to a guy who criticized his work, I would agree to  Victor's reply BUT it's just point blank unprofessional. It seems he can't handle criticized statements but that's my opinion, it's not fact, just my observation. Other then that Victor's work is great and he has talent, I only wish I was as good as him.

The Dragon God, this is the clearest example of thread hijacking I have ever seen and it is not allowed. Also you are being insulting to another person. Again. Please, make a new thread if you want to talk about something different than the point of the thread and put it in the correct forum.

Victor is ONLY reluctant to hold people's hand in setting up his scripts because they haven't bothered to read the instructions. The ONLY time he gets angry with people is when they ask things that are very clearly explained in the script instructions. And since his scripts are so popular, he gets MANY of these sorts of requests.

I totally understand where he's coming from.

And now, back to the topic.

Sharm, I didn't know, sorry. No need to cause unnecessary trouble. As for this so-called "insult", that's going too far. I stated it was my opinion, not a fact thus no insult was made. I have the right to express my opinion. IF it's insulting, see how Victor takes it cause you are not him. I never said Victor was bad, your ignoring the real words I've said. I wrote he does a good job, thus I support his work, but you've completely looked pass that so don't judge me off reading what you wanted to, you don't know me. You want to say something, then say "nice support here Dragon".

Shaz, I understand that but IF the instructions were as clear as you say then Victor would never get questions ever and that's unrealistic. Also IF the MANY requests he gets is too much, that's no excuse to ignore or refuse to answer questions. He needs to make better preparations then for this situation. That means playing catch up, organize time to stop scripting so he can answer questions, then when he is done resume scripting.

Actually i think i started the in insulting, Sharm... sorry about that.

As i was about to say before Shaz beat me to making the next post....

Victor does get rather ansy... that's my polite way of saying he's get's pretty pissed.

But i can't blame him, his scripts are not that hard.. and he has a really good manual there to look at as it is.

I was gonna say that next...

I was also going to state. something else but my brain is being crappy right now.. keep losing my train of thought as i talk.. gah i hate that!

Oh yeah.. the only reason i warned about how he gets, was more or less to kinda .. make sure anyone who aproaches him kinda keeps calm and not take it personally..... really was not meant as an insult.. but facts are facts.. and he can get rather ansy.

I know one thing.. i would get ansy to if people did not bother to read and just kept asking the same things over and over.

But even when you report a bug he kinda get's that way... he has with me .. i know that much.

I some times find myself trying to help people and take the slack off him..

Either way.. i feel his scripts are the best.. despite the bugs.

But yeah.. back on topic..

I have not been back to drawing yet..

A lot of crap keeps coming up.

Like something might be wrong with my thyroide... which has me pannicking (no sympathy needed, just explaining myself)

Plus being the hollidays .. i been busy with other little things here and there.

Also.. i am just not happy with a lot of things i keep producing.. and i end up scrapping things over and over.

I really want that drive back that i had when i started this thread.. i was on a roll.. then i crashed hard... bleh.

Anyhow.. sorry... the insulting was started by me.. but i tried to be coy and subtle about it... forgive me.

The Dragon God, I am sorry to have to say this, but you are being WAY too argumentative with mods these days. The forum rules CLEARLY state, if you have an issue with a moderator action, you take it up with a higher-level moderator or admin (and I have explained this to you very clearly in PM as well). You do NOT argue about it in the thread, derailing it further.

Calling someone unprofessional and saying they can't take criticism just because they don't want to walk you through instructions that are already provided IS insulting them. Now - if you have an issue with this, take it up with an admin. Do NOT argue about it here.

And this:

Shaz, I understand that but IF the instructions were as clear as you say then Victor would never get questions ever and that's unrealistic. Also IF the MANY requests he gets is too much, that's no excuse to ignore or refuse to answer questions. He needs to make better preparations then for this situation. That means playing catch up, organize time to stop scripting so he can answer questions, then when he is done resume scripting.
REALLY? Someone goes to the trouble of writing scripts and sharing them with people, and YOU want to dictate how they should go about their business? If I continually got requests for help with my scripts, and those requests were things that were clearly explained in the instructions, and then someone said I wasn't doing well enough and needed to make better preparations, I'd just stop sharing scripts. When you are providing things for people and answer their questions without complaint, no matter how many times they're asked or how many times you've explained them, and then take criticism for the way you go about things, again without complaining, THEN you can criticize others and tell them what they should be doing. As for me? I think I'll say "thank you very much for making this available to the rest of us."

The instructions are really clear The Dra... ya know what.. i'm just gonna call you TDG..

The instructions are really clear TDG, i managed to reproduce Final Fantasy 4 5 AND 6's battle systems down to the letter.

And i been experimenting with other types.

Managed to recreate Phantasy Star 1 2 and 4's battle systems as well with his scripts.

it's not hard, trust me.. people just gotta slow down and read through, even try experimenting with his examples.

It's not hard.

Plus anything worth learning, is worth spending the time to learn.

Here - have a break for a few days. You are welcome.

I am hiding your post, because yet again, you are further derailing the thread. I am not bothering to reply, because you would not consider any point of view other than the one you have, so it would be a waste of my time.
