Looking for someone to takeover old VX game

Hello everyone!

I had been working on and off for many many years on a VX game.

I don't have time (or drive) to finish it at this stage (I'd also lost quite a bit and had to revert to an older version I had saved. If anyone is interested in taking it over (or if you just want to play it until the current stage) feel free to let me know and I will upload the maps.

The game has about 10 hours of gameplay so far and choice of multiple companions (good/evil kind of choice) and also about 100 maps. Also, if you pick one companion over the other you will clash with the one you didn't choose later on.

The brief synopsis of the game is basically the main character is an alien and the powers that be are trying to use him as a weapon.

In the past there was a great war where the main character "Reaver" caused massive destruction and death.
The main characters sister is a powerful mage called Leona managed to seal away his evil form and bind him to human form.

He has been captured by the West and they plan to turn him back into his evil form (the Reaver).
The game starts with the King gloating about how he has managed to capture him and he sends him to a prison where the King can try and turn him back into Reaver.

He doesn't make it to the prison but instead his "loyal" guard takes him in order to usurp the throne for himself.

This guard tries his own experiments/magic to change him back into Reaver (and to control him) but he really screws up and instead splits him into two forms. The game proper starts with the player controlling 2 characters in a dungeon.

A bit cliche but both characters have lost their memory so they set off to find out who they are.
As time goes on they start having the same shared dreams (actually memories of past events as Reaver). Later they start talking in unison.

About 1/3 they way through the game (about where I got to). One of the 2 main characters gets kidnapped by Soldiers of the king. Because the 2 main players are separated they both fall unconscious leaving the position of party leader open.

Leona (Reavers sister) starts tracking the main charaters. Once she is sure that they are her brother she will join the party.
Players encounter Leona in 1 of the major missions where she will save the party from certain death.

Features I wanted to add:
- Those cool battle sequences where you see the character.
- Dungeons where a certain number of enemies spawn randomly and are visible. (and if you clear out a dungeon they come back)
- A fast travel system. (I kind of got this to work but it was a complete mess with switches, I never could figure out ruby)
- A series of maps I called "Forels" Kind of like chocobo forests. But you search for randomly spawned items. (This kind of worked)
- A sequence (In the map Boynton) where you had 30 or so seconds to get out of town and if not bounty hunters started towards you to attack you.
- A fighting pit in Unton (The capital of the Eastern continent)
- More custom enemies. (The game just uses the basic enemies and tilesets)
- I also wanted to tidy up the switches somehow (they are a bit of a mess but generally the lower numbers are from the start of the game.)

Sounds like you're burned out buddy. Just take an extended game and come back fresh in the future is my advice. You've put so much into it already. 10 hours of decent gameplay is probably 1000 hours of work.

Marsigne said it best, it's your story, your world and presumably at one stage was a dream of yours. I'd recommend seeing it thorugh. take a few months away and you might come back fresh and be excited to work on it again. Hell even if it takes 20 years to get it done at an hour a week, no harm.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
