Hello community!

As the title says I am looking for the stairs from the basic Outside_A5 tileset. At this moment, the tiles included in the tileset go from the back to the front (meaning you move downwards (the back is located at a higher level than the front)).
What I am looking for is exactly those tiles, but to the other direction, meaning they move from the front to the back. This means that you also move downwards, but this time the front is located at a higher level than the back.
I hope this is clear enough, if you need any more information feel free to ask.
For the convenience I added the image of the tileset below:

Have a nice day,

MV resources is for sharing resources you've made, not asking for them, so...

I've moved this thread to Resource Requests. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Is this something along the lines of what you're looking for?

Hello,

This is indeed something along the lines of what i'm looking for, but after inserting it in RPG Maker it looks like this:

Isn't this kind of weird-looking?

What San provided is just the single tile step, and perhaps only to establish a baseline on your expectation before continuing. :) The three-tile width would still need to be built.

Oh, my bad.
Well, in that case, that's indeed what i'm looking for.

I think it looks a bit off as it's just the stairs flipped around, which makes the perspective off. In order to look more "right", the rock part needs to be shortened, as you wouldn't see as much of that from this perspective, and the shadows need to be changed. I can't do it right now, or I'd give it a shot. But perhaps tomorrow I can if it's not been done.

As mlogan said the problem is the perspective. And the picture looks off because that form of stairs is technically impossible to view in the default perspective, which is why such a stair does not exist as a tile.

You can make a lower degree stair and see that from the other side in the way mlogan described, but a 45 degree stair can't be viewed from top in the default 45 degree perspective - you'll only ever see the top step of the stairs because all lower steps are hidden by the top one.

If you don't overuse them, you can get away with really narrow stairs for the back - make sure the amount of steps is the same as for the stairs on the front:
just use the edge of the stairs to show that there are stairs, but don't give them more room than you need to show that it is a stair. You can do that by yourself in gimp for any stair and length you need, here is a quick example how it could look like:

Panda Maru has by the way a great mountain set with sideview stairs you might find useful:

Here are the completed outside steps.

Thank you very much, I will let you know if they have been put to good use!

Thanks for the example and the link, both are very useful and informative!

Now that I understand why tiles like these do not 'exist' does anybody know a way to move up somewhere and then move down again (by not using a u-turn) that has more realistic look than these stairs?

Nope. Most games just map around the problem.

If I understand your question correctly, @whtdragon has side stairs for many of those tiles here, under Side Stairs.

Thank you,
The only things is that those stairs are for insides of maps, but i'm looking for outside stairs.
Besides that, it's a very nice post with lots of great stuff. I'm sure it will come in handy!

You're welcome! The green ones are grass stairs, and the brown ones dirt, so I think they're meant to be used outside.^^

I see what you mean about the perspective piece. I'll see what I can come up with to get them to look more realistic with the cliff options given.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
