Can you specify a motif? I mean you said mages. But I'm trying to elaborate on the function of the environment. To assess your worldbuilding needs. Is it a communal space with doors and prayer mats? Or something purely ceremonial? A perilous chapel used by multiple congregations.

Are they opening portals? Raising the dead? Mutating into lizard men? Expanding their consciousness? Kidnapping children? Worshiping a god? Forging a pact with demons? Maybe it's a decorative space, used by magic school fraternities to filter certain people from their drinking parties and orgies.
Do you need a punch bowl? Beer cask. Sake barrels.
Icons of worship. Mutilated livestock.

Do you have a preference for color.
Red? Green? Purple?
Perhaps something suggesting an affinity with a known character.

I will try to be as specific as can XD.

These mages are a secret organization, they are like a third power in the world that is growing and they want to destroy and conquer everything in the name of their lost god. There is a story behind the adventure where an old hero used a sword that helped ending a war, but no one actually knows that this same sword was used in the past to summon a destruction god which now this little mages are part of the cult.

They are trying to bring the god back but since the sword is lost in the present they are trying to figure out how to liberate this god from wherever it is. They are trying to collect some pages form a lost book that tells the story and probably will be information on their god and how to bring it back.

For colors for their background should be something "dark" like dark red, or dark grey, things like that.

This is the bit which your explanation doesn't seem to cover. Just saying dark red or dark grey doesn't give much of a steer as any environment can be coloured to match that requirement.

It's ok. I was reaching more for objects with occult significance. Like eyes painted or embossed on everything. Glowing glyphs. Illuminated alcoves with something inside.
Something to impress the sense of devotion.

But maybe all you need is stone slate and candles?
