I have a VN project with... probably 20 minutes of gameplay so far. It's in German right now, so I'll have to translate it first, but I think I can manage to write 1 hour of gameplay until the deadline. Are you taking only one project? Is a renpy vn with replacement graphics okay? I have a very good artist but I didn't want to involve her before the story's done.

This sounds interesting and I also had an idea for a visual novel + simulation about a family and managing their budget, but sadly in that short amount of time I will not get it done.

But hope something nice comes out of this.

So...just to get this straight.  You're looking for a script for a (legit) Visual Novel by the end of November; preferably with Art to go along with it, but at least an hour's worth of game script?
You're not actually wanting a finished product by the end of the month, or are you?

I have an idea for a visual novel as well.  If we go with the 1 hour script, can we just PM you with a link to a word document or something?

I might give it a shot, but questions:

1 - Are you looking for a finished game script or not, just something that exceeds 1h but isn't necessarily finished?

2 - Is this meant to be a free, showcasing stuff or are you interested in developing something big, commercial even? (That "Hire" tag left me curious lol)

3 - Does this offer stands up for more than one VN "proposal"? If it does, what would be a limit for you to work on?

I guess this will do, thanks in advance Archeia!

This isn't about finding an existing engine, guys, talking about Renpy is off topic and out of place for the forums.

Archeia, you should try talking to Cyanide Tea.  They're really good and have practice cranking out a high quality VN in just a month.  I think you'd get along with them well too.

I am sorry but I really don't understand this topic. Is this a hiring call for a closed project? I must say I would be delighted if you nice people would create some nice VN with RPG Maker MV but I probably misunderstood this topic.

And to said Engine, it would be really nice to have a few functions from there ported to RPG Maker like ImageMaps and Choices in VN-Style.

Whatever it is, I will now get my hopes up and start waiting for whatever is coming ;-)

I'm taking numerous projects but I want to be sure people will finish it. :)

No, I'm looking for someone who either has a Visual Novel or a Kinetic Novel in the planning. And must be finished by then end of December..

1. I'm looking for a complete script for a short game. It has to be finished if possible.

2. PM me for more info :)

3. It's open for more than one.

That's actually a bigger problem than the original deadline.

I've planned a story with 5 different endings, so it won't be shorter than 10 hours.

Even if I'm able to finish the script, it would probably kill my artist, because it's too much for one person.

I guess the best thing would be if I'll try to come up with a completely new, shorter story.

After that I can still send you the first part of my long story and we'll see how that goes.

Here's a little preview for the artstyle we're going to use:

I hope that will be sufficient for whatever you're looking for.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

I think the problem is some are seeing this as like a huge epic project when I'm only asking for a short, sweet and simple story.

short, sweet and simple story.
For a 1h visual novel, which, by itself, means a certain set of complications.

Sure, you can ignore those complications, but...well, quality will most surely be harmed.

To begin with, even if it's a short thing, it requires a document that couldn't be done properly in less than a month. Time only increases if one decides to add branching choices and different endings.

This is not a huge, epic project, but refering at it as "short and simple" it's a bit of an understatement. No sarcasm here, it's not much of a hassle, but can prove bothersome.

Part of the problems would be opening, developing and wrapping up a story in one hour worth of text. If doing that in three minutes of movie is not easy, when you add a written factor to it, I wouldn't say it solves any problem.

"But novels..." Yes, but this is not a novel, now is it?

Overall, if you can get yourself someone who knows of continuity and (basic) pacing, it's not going to be any trouble. I'm assuming the artwork is already done. And if I'm correct and all that's left is putting art and text together, a month of deadline seems actually reasonable. If I'm wrong, then quite the contrary.

TL;DR - Get someone who can keep pacing proper and make the VN feel cohesive. If the artwork is done, 1 month is good. If not, maybe not so much.

For the moment, I can only wish you good luck. I'm having dealings of my own currently. Still, if at some point this proposal comes up again, I might want to pick it up.

Also: Details feel murky. I can't tell if you're interested on developing something yourself or if this is little more than a showcase for an engine. In any case, take my two pennies. They are worth...well, two pennies.

You can either have a Visual Novel or a Kinetic Novel. That is why I made sure to bring it up in the opening topic for the difference.

People have PM'd me and I have replied to some back and they pretty much got the info through that :)

I wrote the third story of my book in under 48 hours, edited it in under a week, and several people have told me it was the best story in the book (I'm not sure what that says about my writing, to be honest). So I most assuredly will have something completed before November's end.

The question is art. I have none of it and no skill to make it. I can certainly provide a finished VN script. Out of love for a challenge I started one after reading the original post of this thread and I am just under 1/3 of the way done with it now. Traditional VN, style no less!

If art is the only limitation, there is quite a bit of free to use stuff out there, mostly over at Lemmasoft.  It wouldn't be original to your VN and you'd have to write around what's available, but there's some really high quality stuff to be found.

Hey, I can write a hour long script for a Visual Novel I've been planning just a basic one no branching choices as I know who would be together by the end and stuff but I won't have any art as my artist is doing art for the RPG we're making i'm not sure if we'll have any art done by the time you asked so could I still send the script once it's done without art and possibly still be accepted? I can ask my artist but I wasn't sure if just the script is being asked for what would be done for the art
I was just a little confused by this post

Script draft done, I'll be sending you a message to see what specs you want for it. Not bad for 6 days' work. :)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
