I'm looking for a script that I'm sure already exists, but I can't track it down for the life of me. Basically, I want to remove weapons and armour from the item menu, and add a loot option. I also want to be able to tag specific items as "loot", whereby they can't be used/consumed, only sold.

Does anyone know what script I could use for this?

If you make it so that the item is target none use never consume no it effectively does the same thing. At that point the player cannot use it, cannot consume it, and can either just hang onto it or sell it.

If you don't give an item an effect and set it to Occasion:Never, then it can't be used - no need for the designation as loot.

Basically, I want to remove weapons and armour from the item menu, and add a loot option.
You could change "key items" to loot. With the remove weapons/armor, look in the menu scripts (don't remember which off the top of my head) and erase the weapons and armor part of it

Edit: or if you want to keep key items, just rename weapons or armor and make them unequipable. You can actually do this without digging through scripts if you rename either weapons or armor loot. and make the other one something else. You just need to look in the last tab of the database

Edit: actually, you would still have to remove stuff from the charecter equip menu...

I know I can make loot items unusable, I've already done that. I want to actually separate them into another tab so as to make it more obvious to the player what's loot and what's a regular item. I don't want to get rid of key items, and I want to keep weapons and armour visible in the change equipment tab, I just want to remove them from the regular item page. Before my old laptop died, I downloaded a script that did exactly all of this, but now I can't find it.

edit: ok, I just found an old thread on this forum where I asked the same thing & shaz and tsukihime worked out a script for me over here. it's noooot exactly working yet, but I'm messing around with it.

second edit: I had a quick read through the help file, and shocker, it totally helped. key items' idtype is 2, so I changed loot's idtype to 3, and now it works perfectly. there wasn't anything about that in the thread I read, so I wonder if rpgmaker has changed that recently? seems unlikely.

Glad that worked. I know with Yanfly's Item menu you can move things into categories too, though you also have an weapon and armor category (which I have no idea how to remove, so if you don't need those it will still be there).

Oh cool, good to know! I think I'm right with what I've got, but I'll keep that in mind if I want to get a bit fancier. Thanks :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
