You can call me Ken and I am assembling a team for a game called L.O.S.T. (Land of the Silent Travelers). This project is aiming to be a commercial game. If you all can persevere with the team, then you will receive an equal cut of the game's financial yield. You can either contact me through the forums or through email: krichm7777@gmail.com.
For anyone that does help my team with this project, I don't mind trading my writing/plotting abilities in your future projects. I have a love for writing so it would be my pleasure.
Summary:
The land of Vestege is a vibrant land that has abolished war. In fact, it’s been a millennia since a war has ever been waged between countries. The countries of Vestege go about their “peaceful” lives with farm work, politics, research and other familiar occupations that citizens may be involved in, but none more interesting than that of the Dungeon Runner. Becoming a Dungeon Runner is a dream come true to any child. As a Dungeon Runner, one is chosen by a country to delve into the deepest and darkest parts of Vestege in order to eliminate a might beast or to even bring back a valuable treasure.
Dungeon Running is more than just a mere competition between two opposing teams. It’s is truly a political battle that acts as a pseudo-war. Dungeon Runner’s may gain prizes such a gold or special artifacts, but the true prize is… the right to cultivate. Cultivation is important within Vestege because the Monsters that are within Dungeon destroy farm fields. Farmlands not contested by Monsters are usually only best at the borders between countries. Long ago, the countries would have wars over these lands so that their people won’t starve. Countries were plundered, citizens were killed, and diplomacies were tarnished; however, this all changed when countries realized a better way to “fight” for these Dungeons is to host Dungeon Run competitions. These Dungeon Runners even reduced the monster population and acted as a quick defense force. The problems in hindsight were solved, yet it caused unique dilemmas. Countries that repeatedly lost Dungeon Runs would destabilize due to a shortage of food, increased monster presence from weaker defenses, and government population controlling (citizen termination), these are just to name a few. Countries not capable of coming back from this would fall, which led the citizens to dispersing into other countries; but only if they were fortunate to gain entry. People not so fortunate would face starvation, banditry, and the many ruthless monsters that roam around the land. Instead of solving the problem with Dungeons, Dungeon Running has instead made a commodity on Dungeon Running.
This isn’t to say that all believe the status quo should remain! There are some who chose not to gain by doing Dungeon Running but instead has decided they will make change by Dungeon Running! Unfortunately, their individual solutions can never solve a global crisis; so it’s up to the relationships of the righteous to stand against the problems inherent within Vestege. Zax, a Dungeon Runner and researcher, seeks to find out the mysteries of the dungeons and monsters. With his team Rinton and Azely, they will do their best to stop citizens from becoming “lost travelers”. Yet, it won’t be easy for them since there is much gold and power to be gained from the Dungeons existence. The trio must become strong and face their fears/reservations in order to combat those that would stop them.

Characters:
Zax:
Like any young boy his age, Zax always dreamed of one day becoming a Dungeon Runner. During his childhood, Zax was taken away from his childhood friends and received a taste of the beauty of life. Through his adventures with his Teacher, he understood the history of the countries, dungeons, and even the disturbing truths of Dungeon Running. Instead of backing down, Zax embraced everything and resolved that he would find the solution to Dungeon Running. Researchers in Vestege are taught that they must be disconnected from their emotions to research. Although Zax understands the important of having a disconnect, he loves nature too much not to smile and add a bit of humanity in his study. The academic community is a harsh critique at this, and they have often blacklisted his books. Because of this, many books that Zax writes are often just used for his own reflection. Currently, he still writes in spite of this. For a year now, Zax has been back with his childhood friends and all three of them have formed a Dungeon Running team. Over the year, they have become a slightly popular team too.

Azely:
Azely has always enjoyed being ask make things more appealing with her beautiful floral arrangements. As a young girl, the leaders of her country would ask for her service to make different city halls, meeting areas, public squares, and other notable places beautiful with her floral decorations. She felt like she was set; her family was proud of her, she was popular with friends, and even leaders she looked up to admired her work; in truth… she was right. Until one day, she was introduced to a boy near her age that was a Lost Traveler. The sadness in the boy’s eyes tore at her heart. She often visited his home just to present him with some floral arrangement she made to hopefully make him happy. Nothing worked; Azely was puzzled at the despair that this young boy had. Her friend Zax and she decided to “kidnap” him to take him to the beach. There, the three of them bonded and until the current day they are best friends. When Zax is taken away for extensive studies and Rinton leaves to find his country, Azely decides to go with one of her other friends to make her floral designing be so good that people drowned in despair can recover from it by only looking. After much training, Azely gains an answer, but she still lacks the full answer to her quest. She is now a Dungeon Runner with her friends, and she mitigates the hunger across the land as she finds a way to make her inspiration awaken others from despair.

Yet, he swore to himself that one day he would find his country and hopefully his family. Rinton does make friends within this unfamiliar land; yet he always longs for the day he can be embraced by the familiarity that he grew up with. After a few years in the country he became displaced too, Rinton says goodbye to his friends and sets out on an adventure to find his home. After a few years pass, and Rinton comes back to Zax’s country. Rinton tells his friends that he still hasn’t found his home and that he will stop searching. Thank you all for taking the time to read about the project. More detail will/can be given out within a private setting. To everyone interested please note that there will be deadlines arranged for everyone to meet, this way milestones can be met to finish this in a timely fashion and not just die off.
Edit 1: I have added 2 maps to the presentation. They are newly made from this week. The Summary and Character info have been expanded. Lastly, Zax has an updated picture.
Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
