I call this one..."Leonardo De-Skinnio"
I love how most of these have little to no text. Most RPGs rely too much on text to tell a story; you can tell a whole story just by visuals.
So I went into this trying to see what I could do with the default RTP and a few eventing things (doors, waterfall, snowing effect) and character generator created girl. It turned into a sorta Romeo and Juliet style story. Two sides coming together because of the love of a devoted couple who died. Also, the central message is "Where love is, life blossoms."
Credits: It's all RTP
This was super fun! I'm now trying to figure out if I can include my two new characters as supporting characters in my project, not to mention the hilltop itself. Plus, forum trophy! Hard to say no to that ;D
Spoiler: Night on a Hilltop
(Unsure of how much of their respective parts are actually visible on the sprites but I used all their parts in my generator, so better safe than sorry!)
Everyone's made some awesome maps! This seems like fun, here're two maps from me. First up is a loving husband celebrating his wife's birthday.
Kadokawa for the MV RTP
Yanfly for his doodads plugin
And next we've got the love for close friends which leads to you agreeing to dumb requests, like taking care of their kids when you have no idea what you're doing.
Sharm for the Pixel Myth: Germania pack and sprite base
It has been ages since i have been able to get bk on to Rpg maker, So why not start with a mapping contest YEY!.
I am a bit rusty but will see how it plays out i guess .
My idea of love is a man and his best friend at the top of a mountain in autumn asleep in the grass under a full moon dreaming away about the adventures they have.
I will most likely add a second entry down the line when i have a little more time to think about what i want to do but for now this will do
Credit - Trees /Foliage the awesome Pandamaru
Floating Lights - Mog Hunters weather Plugin
Lighting - Thomas Edison Plugin
And the rest is either Mv Generator/RTP or edits to RTP i have made with the addition of a picture of the moon
@hiddenone I had no idea anyone used that base! The sprites look fantastic!
Your templates look amazing, if I had seen them on the shop I would've bought them without a second thought! Seeing them in action (through the entry above) makes me wish RPG Maker will go that route one day.
Oh my! After seeing your sprite base used @Sharm I think I may switch my sprites over to your base. They look so nice!
@Sharm Thanks! I love your bases, they're just perfect with your tiles. Also, good to see I'm spreading the love for them.
Not really a theme where I'm at my best, but here goes!
Spoiler: Valentine for lost loved one
Fog Overlay Brush:
Obsidian Dawn - http://www.obsidiandawn.com/
So many good looking maps. I gotta say I had a fun time doing this, hope their are more events like this in the future.
Anywho, here is my attempt at this. I did use some parallax mapping when making this, but I hope it's not too much. =D
FSM Town of Beginnings DLC
Well, here's my first try - an archaeologist's dream date:
Spoiler: On a Date with Indy
Some MV RTP but mostly Ancient Dungeons - Jungle [Copyright](C) 2016 KADOKAWA, INC; artist Celianna.
Here are my entries for the contest. Both are 640*480 in VXA, though the 2nd entry looks narrower, but that's so my map looks even on both sides with the tiles. I am glad I could enter 2, cause I don't think I could have chosen 1. Enjoy.
"Love under the stars"
The couple stands on the edge of a cliff that overlooks the ocean far below, enjoying each others company, the view and the night sky above.
Made using Enterbrains RTP and the PVG High Fantasy Resource collections.
The same couples wedding day. The father walks his daughter down the isle, while someone plays the wedding march on the organ ready to give her to the man she loves.
Created with Enterbrains RTP and the Mack Seasons tile set by Mack and Titanhex
I originally wanted an outdoor wedding, but I couldn't locate tilesets that I could use to bring out the image in my mind.
I made a map about the Bible verse that says:
'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.' (John 15:13)
Spoiler: Entry 1

Interesting to see how many people associate death with love. A lot of maps here share this aspect, exploring the many meanings of a death for the living.
I just personally find a sad or.. "imperfect" (in lack of an better word) ending in a story more interesting.
The movie Castaway for an example.
Spoiler: If someone has not seen the movie
The guy struggles and hangs on for years on the island and keeps staring at the worn out picture of the woman he was going to ask to marry him.
Then when he finally gets off the island he'll find out that she has moved on with her life and even though they still have strong feelings for each other, it is too late.
I wasn't going to enter two, but it was more fun to do this than the actual work I had to do today so here is my second offering.
Nature and bones by Cyanide
Brushes by Obsidian Dawn
Everything else RTP
Made one with VxAce and rtp edits. It is Muffin, my chocolat bread men and the love of his life, Maggie.
These maps are stunning and so inspired! Kudos to all! I actually feel tempted to enter now that I've seen how much everyone is putting into this. And @Sharm I also think those sprite bases look phenomenal (kudos @hiddenone ! lovely work as always) and I am now curious about using that base more in the future...
