I love how Dad is taking the chance to steal the food from the kitchen while mom is distracted, smart dude.
He is probably not allowed to eat it untill it's ready.
Also the cat up there being his partner in crime, and probably warning him about Mom's return in the room? Who knows...

Can even be interpreted as love between a pet and his owner if you ask me.

 

[Calamitous Magic]

This is my second entry. In an odd way it was inspired by Sarah_yt's entry which had an end of summer feel to it. That put one of my favourite songs - Boys of Summer by Don Henley - into my head. It is something of a lament for lost love and youth. It perfectly encapsulates that yearning you get as you grow older for a certain moment in time which seems perfect to you now, but can never be recaptured.

I went with more of a literal interpenetration of the rules and am actually developing a short game on two maps.

"Date Night!" is a simple Otome (dating sim) that currently has six datable characters and 17 endings planned. Each ending is determined by what the player has bought from various vendors in the small two-map world.

As of v0.57, Krista has two endings achievable. All datable characters are positioned in the world and can join the player. Objects have flavor text. One vendor is functioning.

Hello аll! I decided to also participate in the competition.

I tried not to use parallax, although it required a heavy editing the original tiles.
But the map is made solely on the tilesets and event (for additional layers).
Lighting and shadows - pictures from above. I love the lighting and shadows!

On the map we can see three couples in love is conveniently located in a small apartment, and the poor girl whose boyfriend was drunk and asleep on the couch


ps. Unfortunately, I did not have time to draw a cat, I'm sorry.
I know that maps without cats is not as good as maps with cats.

Love is not all about rainbow and sugar. We (@HaruAkira and I) decided to explore the rather dark side of loving someone.

All the graphic used are our own original creation and the map is made using a simple parallax mapping plugin.

[Rogue]

This is my first try at making a parallax map. Unicorns are solitary creatures, but these two just happened to meet at the same pond under the starry sky. I see them pairing up and starting a family together.

Originally I wanted to have a mother and her baby, but that was toooo much work to make a smaller one. I had also wanted a full moon in the background, but my patience was pretty much shot by that point. I kept things very simple, as I"m still learning how to use the graphics editor. The map size is 544 by 416 pixels.

Credits:

Pixel Myth Germania: one of the grass textures, the trees, and the pond. The flowers are Pixel Myth too, but I changed the colour from yellow to magenta.
RPG Maker VX Ace Basic Graphics: the starlit sky parallax and two of the grass colours/textures

I added shadowing and then made the graphics a bit darker using the brightness/contrast tool so it wouldn't look weird against the night sky.

I made the unicorns from scratch. It was super difficult to make a white mane stand out against a white body. It is made entirely from shades of white, grey, and black. I still need to make the other 10 poses before I can use it as a character. I don't usually do pixel art, so I'm super happy with how it turned out.

My second entry. Almost I can not believe that I could finish this card in time!

Recovering after a Christmas party (my previous map here), the drunk guy invites a girl on a date. Of course, he will have to buy in the gift shop flowers, chocolates and a big teddy bear. Lovers meet at the bus stop, go to the bar next door and pretty drunk, then they decided to get a kitty.

(On the map there is no cat).

As in the previous case, I made a map in RPG Maker using only tilesets and events. Overlay images is only used for lighting and shadows.

Funny story: In my haste, I misread the instructions and thought "Hmm, 816 by 264 tiles is pretty big, I'll just use 50 x 50 tiles."
Yep--tiles. I ended up creating an entire town.

Hello!
I'm new here (and really I'm new also to RPG Maker, etc) but I really like to create my own maps, so I thought to give this contest a try!
(Sorry for my slopping english)
I just wanted to make this... symbolic, is my favourite modus operandi.
For me, love is something you make born and grow. You have to take care of it everyday; it's your choice to keep in or give up.
So, in my head love is like a plant. This plant could be beautiful, and strong, and reach up every aspect of your life.
I will leave to you why for the bed I used a boat, lol.
