How are you moving the NPCs? Do you have them set to Autonomous Movement? Do you have them set to parallel process?
Random movement, and I think I do have 'em at parallel processes.

Too many parallel processes are bad. =/

Hopefully you're using the Autonomous Movement as your Random, instead of a move route.

Oh wait, I just checked and they're not parallel processes.

You don't need to set it to parallel process just to do an autonomous movement. THAT is probably contributing to your lag.

Parallel Process is ONLY needed if you have actual commands that you want to be run all the time.

- You do NOT have to set it to parallel process just to enable stepping animation

- You do NOT have to set it to parallel process just to do autonomous movement

- You do NOT have to set it to parallel process with a Set Move Route command just to do custom movement - use Autonomous Movement (with Action Button trigger) instead

And if you use a parallel process event to set things like weather or screen tint, make sure you do an Erase Event afterwards, as you do not need it to repeatedly set the weather.

So ... change all your parallel process events to action button, if they have no commands, and convert events that ONLY have a move route command to autonomous movement instead, and see how much of an improvement you get from that.

Edit: just saw the post you made while I was typing this. I'd also missed the one where you said it happens on a brand new project. Maybe it IS your computer. Do you have other programs running at the same time (including virus scanners that might be running in the background at the same time)?

It isn't a parallel process, the trigger is set to action button.

Yeah, I saw that, which is why I edited it.

You don't need to quote the entire post that you're replying to when your post is immediately after. And when you do quote, please remove anything in the quote that you're not referencing. Otherwise we'll end up with pages filled with quotes and it's hard to find what people are actually saying.

Sowy D: I'm half dead at the moment. I do open the task manager and close things that I'm not using and it still lags. It's definitely my computer.

lol - you quoted my entire post, where I said to stop quoting entire posts?

I'm going to close this, then, since it seems it's not much to do with Ace.

I suggest you run the usual antivirus, antimalware checks, etc - if you don't run them frequently and keep them up to date, you could end up with a heap of stuff running that you really don't want to be running (and slowing down the system). You could also look and see what programs are set to run on startup - it's surprising how many feel they should, but you don't really need them to. But that's all subject for another discussion.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
