    GAMEPLAY MECHANICS
    Structure
Players start in a central hub area, which serves as a gateway to various other levels. Within these levels, players must complete various objectives in order to obtain Light Shards, key items of which the player will need a certain amount to unlock new levels back in the hub area and continue the story. Aether Shards can be obtained in any number of ways, from completing an NPC's quest, to solving a puzzle, to completing a dungeon, to just defeating an area's boss. Think Power Stars from Mario 64. Players can warp back to the central hub at any time.

Battles are a standard RPG affair. Random ecounters, standard leveling system. Side view battles.

    Combat
    Skill Types
Weapon Arts- Special skills dependent on the specific weapon that has been equipped.

Primary- Skills learned through the actor's primary class.

Secondary- Skills learned via the actor's secondary class. These persist through class changes once learned.

Sorcery- Magic able to be cast with a Runestone accessory equipped. Sorcery scales with the Arcane stat. Tends to be offensively oriented.

Wonders- Magic cast with a Talisman accessory. Wonders scale with the Spirit stat. Tend to be defensive in nature.

Summons- Magic cast with a Gate accessory. Summons have lower base numbers than Sorcery and Wonders, but scale with both Arcane and Spirit. Has a healthy mix of offensive and defensive skills.

    Stats & Damage Calculation
    Stats
HP- When this drops to zero, actor dies.
MP- Required to use most skills.
Atk- Offensive stat used when calculating physical damage.
Def- Defensive stat used when calculating physical damage.
Arc- A stat primarily used for boosting the power of Sorcery skills
Spt- A stat primarily used for boosting the power of Wonder skills.
Agi- Used for determining turn order, number of actions, and dodge rate.
Lck- Used for a number of things, including hit rate, crit evade, and state application.

    Damage

Physical Damage: a.atk - b.def + X, where X is the power of the skill. All Physical damage is counted as either Blunt, Slash, or Pierce elemental damage, and final damage will be adjusted accordingly depending on the actor's resistances.

Magic Damage: a.mat + X, where X is the power of the skill. Replace a.mat with a.mdf if the magic is a Wonder or use both a.mat + a.mdf if skill is a Summon. There is no magic defense stat, and therefore magic damage can only be reduced by its corresponding resistance.

    Classes
Every character has one Primary class that they cannot change, and a Secondary class that can be changed at will. Secondary classes provide additional skills, equipment and stats.

    Most stats are calculated as: (2 * Base * (Lv - 1)) / 100 + Base / 10

    HP is the exception, and is calculated as (4 * Base * (Lv - 1)) / 10 + Base / 10 + 20

An actor's final stats are found by taking the stats provided by the Primary and Secondary classes, and adding them together.

    Primary
    Revenant
Initial class of the MC. Can use all the equipment of both Warriors and Fighters, and eventually becomes the Black Knight class. No special attributes, and rather weak.

Description/Lore: An ancient soldier, recently reawakened. Seems to have once been powerful, yet that strength has clearly faded during his sleep.

    Black Knight
Huge stats all around, but especially physical. Can equip most weapon and armor types, and Runestones. Focuses on Fire-based attacks. Absorbs Fire and gains a 50% bonus to Fire attacks. 25% weakness to Lightning. Immune to Burn status.

Description/Lore: Ancient dragon slayers from an ancient, long forgotten age, the Black Knights were the only humans to ever truly command the strength of flame. Legends portray the Black Knights as unstoppable forces of war who used the dragon’s very own fire against them in a great and terrible war. The legend goes on to state that this war eventually ended in a peaceful resolution. The Black Knights pacted with the very same dragons that had once been their enemies, and together, they are said to have guarded the world from a terrible evil. One day, however, they simply disappeared. No one has seen a dragon or a Black Knight for well over 2,000 years. Until now.

    Nemesis
A hyper-offensive and nimble fighter. Can equip Swords, Twin Swords, up to Medium Armor, can't equip Shields. Focuses on Poison and acid based skills. 50% bonus to Poison damage. Immune to Poison damage. Cannot be afflicted by Venom, Poison, or Toxic status. Immune to Disease. Resistance to Corrosion. Nemesis has an innate bonus to counter damage and counter chance.

Description/Lore: The original knight known as Nemesis appears in ancient legends as a legendary warrior in a distant world, who fought and prevailed in countless battles. As the legend goes, Nemesis betrayed her country and her people to fight on the side of her beloved in a great war. She unleashed a fury of poisons, acids, venoms and toxins, and was eventually responsible for the destruction of her homeland.

Knights of this world who take inspiration from the fighting style of this legendary warrior have taken the title of Nemesis for themselves, but that is about as deep as any legitimate connection to the original Nemesis goes.

A physical wall with extremely high Atk, Def and HP. Can wear most weapon and armor types by default, only exception is Greatshields, Bows, and Hammers. Focuses on basic attacks and Weapon Arts.. Resistance to Bleed state.

Description/Lore: The Spartans of Athos are peerless warriors who have mastered the art of war. Every Spartan warrior was trained from a young age to be a ruthless, efficient killing machine and exemplary soldier. Unfortunately, Athos was completely destroyed by a great sickness in recent times, and now all that remains of the once great city-state are what few Spartans remain. Most of them wander the world as mercenaries.

Cannot wear Heavy Armor regardless of if a Secondary class has it. Focuses on lightning based support. Has Airborne status, granting +20% Evasion and immunity to ground based attacks and states, but granting a weakness to Anti-Flier attacks.

Description/Lore: Majestic, winged female warriors who rule the skies. Though they now inhabit the Holy City of Nels Icathe, the Valkyries can trace their origins back to the ancient flying city, Astarisk. But when the city fell, they joined with the Wardens to form the Drakeslayers, which would then go on to found the Holy City. Sadly, many Valkyries today are falling prey to the corruption of the Dark, mirroring the decline of the city they inhabit.

A class that uses Summon Gates to call Spirits for powerful attacks. Strong, but low MP for a caster. Can equip Spears, Bows, Summon Gates. Can only use Light Armor and Shields by default.

Description/Lore: A spirit medium able to call forth ancient and powerful spirits for aid. Summoners form contracts with their spirits, can then call them forth from whatever world they inhabit into their own. Summoners channel the spirit through their body in order to gain its powers, and fight alongside it. The tradition is as old as time itself, and is said to be a technique passed on by the Goddess herself. Summoners keep temples and places of worship throughout all lands. Because channeling is a taxing endeavor, most Summoners also practice some form of martial skill in order to build fortitude.

Focuses on Lightning based attacks. 50% bonus to Lightning attacks. 80% innate Lightning resistance. 50% weakness to Ice. Resistance to Stun state.

Description/Lore: The Wardens, or Grey Knights as they are also known, are of the Holy City of Nels Icathe, and can trace their origins back to the legendary Silver Knight, Roland. When the drakes attacked in absence of the the Black Knights and dragons, Roland appealed to the Giants for aid. The power of the Storm was the drakes’ only weakness, and the Giants were the master of that power. After mastering the power of Lightning for himself, Roland returned and repelled the drakes. Eventually, he would gather followers to continue hunting and protecting people from drakes, and these followers would come to be known as the Wardens. The Wardens would eventually ally themselves with the Valkyries, with the merged faction becoming known as the Drakeslayers. Shortly after, the Drakeslayers betrayed the Giants and slaughtered them, building their new Holy City upon what was once the Giants’ land. When this happened, Roland grew disillusioned with the faction he had formed, and left to seek atonement. His current whereabouts are unknown.

    STORY
Long, long ago, the goddess's world was destroyed. She, the last remnant of that world, found herself unable to put it back together, and so she did the best she was able to; she made a new world instead, out of the remnants of the last. She guided this world through its early stages, but one day, she grew tired, and she put herself into an eternal slumber to be alone with her dreams. However, not wanting to leave this world unprotected, she left her power behind in the form of her divine sword, Lucerna.

The goddess had an enemy, the one who had destroyed the world she had come from, the World Eater. She had kept him imprisoned in another realm, and prevented his escape with her power. When she departed this world, this task was designated to Lucerna which served as the final lock preventing his escape. But the World Eater, who draws his power from the corrupted Dark, has appeared again. Exerting his influence however he has been able to through smalls cracks in his cell, he has amassed power and strength, and thrown the world into chaos.

To make matters even worse, Lucerna, the object sealing the World Eater away, has been shattered. It's pieces have scattered to all ends of the world, and the World Eater has begun to reawaken and escape his confinements. When he does, he is going destroy the world, just as he had done before, only this time, the goddess will not be here to rebuild it.

Now, as the world teeters at the brink of a horrible calamity, Azel, a young man with no memories, awakens underground, beneath Lecerna's old resting place. When he makes his way there, he is tasked by a wounded dragon with finding the Aether Shards, scattered all around the world, and using them to reforge Lucerna and reseal reseal the World Eater. With no memories and no path of his own to follow, Azel accepts this task. He must gather the Shards before it is too late, or the world will soon cease to be.

I love the mapping for the first level!! I'm not a big fan of central hub games unless it's monster hunter however the game sounds interesting enough to bring in an audience. good luck!
