I am new here. I am just starting to learn how to use RPG Maker VX ACE. I really like your work. Can I ask what program you use to draw? I also looked at your other resources, what do you use for tile sets and sprites?
Here's a new portrait I whipped up quick the other day - matches Ace RTP:
I do use the RTP as a base, and that helps a ton with getting the style right. I definitely don't see myself as a portrait master or anything. If you want really awesome talent, check out Jalen's or Scinaya's portrait. Those two have incredible talent!
Thank you! I often get really great flashes of inspiration and sometimes they come together into something that looks good.
Oh, gosh, that particular piece is mostly just clever editing. Most of the credits go to Enterbrain for that one.
I use Photoshop, but any program that gives you transparency and layers works.
There's a couple possibilities. One is to just use "Show Picture" under events (don't forget to Erase Picture when the scene is done). The other is to use a message script that allows for portraits as well as faces. You can probably find such a message script over in the RGSS area.
Hi Lunarea, if I may ask, are you making (or already made) the character sheets for the priestesses and Aphrodite? Because I made a Aphrodite character set on my own, then realized that if you do not permit it, I had better not post them online, or even use the portraits in my game ><
I wrote a reply a short while ago, but I guess my internet got weird and it never posted. I'm totally ok with you posting the sprite in this thread and you can definitely use the portraits in your game. You're also welcome to post your sprite in other places, but please only link to my thread instead of re-posting portraits that go with it.
I would love to make sprites for a bunch of them, but I sadly lack free time lately. If you don't mind waiting for a few weeks, I'll put it on my to-do list. But if you're in a rush, you could try the resource requests section and maybe one of the other awesome artists will make it.
"If the lion knew her own strength, hard were it for anyone to rule her". This would be my custom title if I had enough spaces for it. Coming off of personal pain, I'm glad I found the original quote I've tweaked.
