Main Menu Text missing when Draw Game Title is unchecked, base project: playtest and deployed

Hi, I would like to ask if this is a problem with my own Maker or is other people experiencing this.

I'm using windows 7, my rpgmaker MV version is 1.6.1 from Steam

This is all from a fresh base project, no plugins.
Whenever I uncheck the Draw Game Title in systems, like so



The menu looks like this, I have tested this in playtest and deployment, same results.


The error goes away when I have the checkbox checked. Should I reinstall my program or is this a bug?

neither imho - I would guess that a plugin has messed up the way fonts are handled.
Can you give us a screenshot of your plugin manager with all plugins listed?

There are no plugins. I clicked on New Project, deleted the 2 plugins that always come with it, unchecked the title checkbox.
I can replicate this no problem with all New Projects. Should I submit a deployed version of the base file?

No problems on my side. All plugins deactivated, just like you.

I even downloaded your projects, all works fine.

Following this thread because it's interesting and I have no idea why it's happening. My guess (very unlikely, since I don't think you're a coder and would mess with the default code) is the the default code may have been altered and it doesn't load the data into the game objects.

That doesn't sound too probable, it's a fresh one from what I understood and the OP has a problem in the projects they shared, but I don't. I'd say it's closer to a hardware-software issue. Maybe drivers, I don't know.

@Poryg Ohh true you're right. I think drivers is more probable, but we don't know his hardware.

@dragoonwys, if you ask a rhetorical question, you are corrected when you unclicked the "Draw Game Tittle", the writing title on the database does not display. I think the reason for a developer doing this because you can draw personalize your artsy title on PNG file. It is nothing wronged with your computer.

@MushroomCake28 Yeah, I'm not a coder which is why I was confused if this was a issue with my own program or not, since from what I understand from all the bug report tutorials, fresh new projects shouldn't have any problems.

@Poryg o.o I see, it is weird that the projects I shared aren't showing the same things I see. It shows me exactly what I posted in OP. So maybe it really is my hardware or driver?

I'm not sure what driver affects this so I don't have a clue on where to look but here is my hardware specs based on the list I found on the Steam page
Processor: Intel(R)Core (TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
RAM: 16gb
Direct X Version: DirectX 11
Video card: ATI FirePro V (FireGL V) Graphics Adapter

@Kupotepo Oh yeah, I know what that checkbox is supposed to do, I am more interested in finding out why the main menu text goes missing when it is unchecked. From the other posts, it might be problems with my software/hardware.

@dragoonwys, if you are not changed the code, the two possible might be your computer or correpted file of your project which mean you need to start new project and back up your files.

@Kupotepo Oh, this is happening on all the New projects, I was going to uninstall and reinstall my program during the weekends if the answer I got from here pointed to that being the problem. But it seems like it could be something else entirely, I'll wait and see if there is more info on what could cause this.

@MushroomCake28 I'm sorry, I have no idea. ^^;; I know I got this computer 4-5 years ago so it can't be a model released further than 2014

At first, I thought it might be something with loading the font or the plugin (corrupted, or accidentally modified something). Then when you said that it works for other users but not for you, I thought of drivers. It can't be both logically since the source is completely different. I'm very sorry but I hope my friends on this forum can discover why. I will follow this closely though.

In past AMD graphics used to have a lot of problems due to the fact that they didn't have the budget and base of Nvidia for GPU and Intel for CPU. So glitches and reduced performance compared to Nvidia cards was only to be expected.
And this indeed is in the past. The latest FireGL GPU was released in 2008, so it's 10 years old technology to say the least. Although I would say that even 10 years old Nvidia chips wouldn't be capable of dealing with mv games without glitching.

Nevertheless, there is also one more problem. Fire series GPU were made for professional use in studios dealing with animation. Not for general purpose use. Which means they weren't optimized for general purpose use, including web browsing (not to mention that the technology has advanced) or gaming.

So you have both obsolete and unsuitable GPU. I think it can be declared a culprit. Not sure why it happens that this bug only happens with game titles off, but that's glitches for you.

@Poryg Ahhh I see, I do also do 3D animations with this PC so it makes sense for the graphic card to go that direction.
I think maybe its time I invested in a new graphic card or PC if any of the newer ones are incompatible, time to save up money.
Thank you very much for the help and conclusion! I guess if I need to publish a game without title for now, I can get some test players to check for me if the menu text is still there.

I'm keeping this thread open just in case anyone else has anything new to add for now.
