make background transparent

ok not much of request... dont know if this is the right location for this type of request


but i need this image's background to be transparent

i have tried several times to complete this task but failed as i have no idea how to work with gimp to do this.... any help would be appreciated

i don't know with gimp, but in photosop there is a magic eraser tool to do that, also that picture format is .jpg, you can't make it transparent with that format

Your image should have no BG "Background" and use the file extension "PNG" instead of "JPG"

Take the magic wand tool (should be over in your toolbox sidebar thing, probably towards the top, looks like a little wand with a yellow tip) and select the white areas (might need to hold down shift to select more than one white area) OR the tool right next to the magic wand, icon is a little hand pointing to some colors, and just click the white and it will select-by-color all of the white area. Press delete on your keyboard. The white should be gone. Save As and select the format .png instead of .jpg. It should be transparent upon import.
