Hello! I'm rather new to RPG Maker MV, (or any RPG Maker program for that matter) but I have a decent understanding of how the system works and I'm quickly learning how to use it. Anyways, I am currently working on a game that requires the player to randomly jump between many different maps. In order to escape from the dungeon, the player will need to accept quests from certain NCPs, jump randomly between maps hoping to find the item the NPC wants, take the item back to the NPC in question, and give it to them.

The only problem with this is that I have absolutely no idea how to make an NPC react to a player with a new set of dialogue and events when said player is carrying the necessary item in their inventory. Can anyone help me? This is really essential to the game I'm making. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :kaoangry:

The simplest way is to have a separate page with the reaction to the item being present, conditioned by that item being in the inventory. Just check this box:

Remember after the reaction to have a self-switch to move the event on to another page, so that it doesn't keep repeating every time the player interacts with the NPC.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
