So I'm trying to make an event that follows the player but doesn't occupy the same tile as the player. However, if I set the event's priority to "same as characters", then the player will get blocked by the event. If I use above/below or through, then obviously the event will occupy the same space as the player. I don't want this event to be an actual party member mind you, so that's out of the question.

Would that work for non-actors tho? I didn't want to elaborate on the details earlier but this event is actually not a person. It's actually an invisible <actor cell> for LTBS that dictates where the actors' spawning cell will be located for battles. It would, however, function identically to Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow (minus the interaction to see Pikachu's mood lol).

Edit: Shoot, I just tried the plugin. It only works for actors...

Can someone help me get an event to follow the player?

@slimmmeiske2 Sorry, I didn't intend on using a plugin for this so I didn't post there. I was under the impression this could be done via eventing somehow.

@Frostorm You posted it in Plugin Support, which is when you're having trouble using a plugin. Since most answers refer to plugins, I've moved it to Requests. If you really don't want to use a plugin, I can move it to MV Support.

Ooh ok, I thought the "Javascript" in "Javascript/Plugin Support" also included non-plugin related scripting... Wherever you feel is most fitting is fine by me. Leaving it here is also fine.

Thank you all for the recommendations, I will try them and see which works best.

Edit: @tale That looks like exactly what I was looking for! Thx! :kaojoy:
Best part, no plugin required lol.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
