I wasn't sure where to put this topic, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

Some of the Music I got for Ace are really good, but seem quiet even at 100% compared to others. Is there a way to make Music even louder than 100%?

Your best bet would be to level them with an external program. I do agree, sometimes OGG-converted stuff does seem to end up a little quiet!

I found some, but they're all for MP3's, and i think MP3's don't have loops do they? :distrust:

This isn't really a script thing.

Get Audacity and first use that to normalise the audio to -0.1 db and if it's still not loud enough, use amplify to turn it up more. Be very careful with this as you might get clipping/distortion if you do it too much.

RMMV
If the music files you are using are MP3 files, then you can use MP3Gain or another program like it to raise the volume without need of decoding and re-encoding. MP3Gain is a bit old, so you might need to compatibility mode in Windows to get it running properly ... but I use it quite often and it works great.

If the music files are OGG, then the best bet is decoding to WAV, doing what Scythuz suggested and then re-encoding as OGG (which Audacity can do). Just keep the WAV file around until you are happy with the output so you don't have to decode with the same file multiple times.

No, the files I want louder are OGG.

I'll try this.

There is an Ogg Vorbis equivalent to MP3Gain called VorbisGain, but it works a bit differently by instead adding a ReplayGain tag to the Ogg file which indicates at which level to playback the file. Unfortunately, it requires that the player recognize ReplayGain tags and I am unsure whether RPG Maker's game player/editor does this. You'd have to check for yourself or wait for someone to report back, as I am unable to test this currently.

If you decide to re-encode the file to adjust the volume levels, you're going to experience quality loss due to the file format being a lossy format. If you have access to the recording in a lossless format such as WAV/FLAC/ALAC/etc., you'd be better off using that as the source to then encode into a new Ogg file with the desired changes made from that.

If you're looking for a simple way to convert media file formats, I recommend xrecode II. If you're looking for any extensive audio enhancements, then as recommend before me, Audacity is a fine free and open source software. Other alternatives to Audacity may be found here, or here for free alternatives only.
