Hey there.

So I do my own artwork for all my games. And have recently started creating my own animations for the battle sequences. However for some reason the colour black will not appear in the game. Its clearly their on my png. file but inside the game creator it wont appear at all. I think its being transparent on me. When I select the file in Animations (database) it doesn't show up! That's including battle testing and game mode however it is there on the file when I select it.

Any ideas why this is? Is there a way to change black being the default transparency for animations?

I have tried using a more greyish black which works, but its not the effect I want. I also tried opening up the rtp folder and copying some of the images there that use black. For instance Earth1. It's first sprite is black. Although when it shows up in game, you can clearly see its transparent, because it only shows the other whitish colours around it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Try changing the Blending from Add to Normal.  You can either Right-Click/Properties each animation graphic or do it quickly with the Cell Batch button.

Black is sort of used as the alpha channel when the blending is set to Add.

Alternatively, instead of using Resource Manager to import it just copy/paste directly in the animation folder.  That way you by-pass the system for rendering black as transparent.

I have already been doing this. I don't think that works.  :D

Thanks Lazy Creator. Ill try that out. It sounds like it should work pretty good.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
