I'm interested on being an artist for the project :3 My portfolio is here: http://eliel.artstation.com
My favored style is semi-realistic, but I can make work with an anime-ish/cartoon-ish style if desired.
Oh cool, can I see a sample of your art? Personally, I'm looking for more of an anime-esque artstyle, but I don't wanna force you to stray too far from your comfort zone. (And also, we already have two artists on board, but I don't wanna place all of the burden on them, plus we're not exactly ready to start focusing on the artwork, so do whatever you feel like for now...)I'm interested in making character art for you! i do like a mix of anime/with a dash of realistic... is that ok?
I can do CG and characters..I can also do expressions just fine but I've never animated talking so....BUT i can do the other things if that's not a deal breaker.
Oh, big yikes, I actually forgot this was even a thing. To be honest, I thought I'd be banned or something for making one or two posts self-advertising my project and then leaving. I'm, uh...not exactly the best at social interaction, as you can see.
Anyhow! I guess it's fair to provide some updates, huh? Well, let's just say that yes, this project is still something I want to work on. The problem is it's obviously come to a screeching halt. There's a couple reasons for this.
1.) I've been busy with college, plain and simple. I haven't had much time to really buckle down and focus a lot on the game, and I have a feeling starting next semester I'm gonna get even busier. I still come up with ideas for lore, plot, and I've even redesigned some of the characters!
(plus, any free time i do get goes towards either stardew valley or sleeping. can you blame me?)
2.) I actually noticed how complex and overwhelmed I made myself with this game, especially with my first major RPG Maker game. Not that complex games are bad, I think I just went a little overboard with it. I still want to make it complex and multifaceted, but not nearly as much as it was before. This actually put me off because of how convoluted everything was, so I decided to take a break from it for a while and develop some other potential projects.
3.) Speaking of "complex", I tried forming this sort of game development team/Discord server and, well...it lasted longer than I thought it would, to say the least. In all honesty, I've never even made a game before in my life, much less formed an indie game development team, so obviously you can tell where this is going. I had no idea what I was doing whatsoever, and my awful management skills meant nobody got to work on anything because I still hadn't finalized the freakin plot. In fact, nothing was set in stone and I had a hard time making progress. Not that it was anyone else's fault, it was purely my own. And for that, I sincerely apologize to everyone who offered to join and contribute to the project, but were negatively impacted by my lack of focus, direction, and experience.
I feel like I opened this thread way sooner than I should've. To this day, I STILL don't have much of a plot beyond demon hunting (and also I might tie in another one of my projects into this, but we'll see how that works out). Honestly, I opened up this thread because I had a vague idea of how the plot was gonna turn out, but I needed some help with fleshing it out, and then things got, you know, convoluted.
In the meantime, here are some changes I've been considering for some time now!
- Instead of three "Fire Emblem Fates"-esque routes, it'll probably be all just one big story with maybe a handful of endings.
- Instead of two factions (well, factions being a group of teens and 20-something-year-olds) at war with each other and you being stuck in the middle, everybody's gonna come together and hunt some demons that decided to rear their ugly heads out of the blue.
- With 11 different characters you can play as, I'm thinking you can set up parties with a maximum of 5 characters at a time, engage in boss battles against them throughout the story, etc.
Sorry for the lengthy post, and I also sincerely apologize to everyone involved, even if you've left a simple comment, for leaving you in the dust. I feel like I opened this thread way sooner than I should've. To this day, I STILL don't have much of a plot beyond demon hunting (and also I might tie in another one of my projects into this, but we'll see how that works out). Honestly, I opened it up because I had a vague idea of how the plot was gonna turn out, but I needed some help with fleshing it out, and then things got, you know, convoluted. I clearly have no idea what I'm doing at this point, so if anyone has any advice on how to do ANYTHING game related (like, you know, developing the game itself, writing the story, forming a team, etc.), it'd be greatly appreciated.
Long story short, the project's been on hiatus for some time because of college, stress, and diving in head first without knowing what I'm doing. I've been trying to bring it back and work on it some more with minimal progress. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope you understand. Take care!
Oh its alright, I understand.I don’t mind working on it bit by bit, (writing & art) college is also quite time consuming for me, and exams are coming.I’m still rooting for this game’s outcome though!
I'm not currently looking for artists because I'm still trying to develop the plot/characters themselves and generally figure everything out. I just...don't know how to go about it, I guess. And I don't know how to ask for help either. sorry i can't word properly, it's midnight and my brain already clocked out for the day,Hey! Are you still looking for artists? I really like the concept!!I can make sprites and face/bust graphics.
