Hello community.

For my game Re & Apophis, I search one male person who lends Re his voice.

When a character uses his/her most unique skill, he/she says something before the skill is used.

Re's most unique skill is called "Supernova" and he says:

"I make life possible, but I am also able to eradicate it with ease. Experience the unbound power of the sun. SUPERNOVA!"

The audio should not be longer than 10 seconds.

If there is anyone of you, who could help me, I'd be very happy. :)

Of course you will be credited as voice actor.

Greetings, Diaeitsch

(Edit: Sentence corrected)

What kind of voice doe she have? Does it need to be deep or just a normal adult male voice? Does it have an accent of any kind or is it meant to be accentless? If there supposed to be feeling in these words or just monotone. These are a few questions that need answering. Also are you sure it is supposed to be "Unbounded" For some reason that seems to be wrong. like it should be unbound instead on the past tense version you use of unbounded

The voice should be a "normal" male voice (not too deep, nor too high). I don't know about any English accents, "standard" English is alright.

The first sentence can be monotone. The second one should be done with a little bit deeper voice than the voice actor's normal voice. Also the second sentence should sound a little bit angry. The last word is the name of the attack itself, it also should be done with a deeper/angry voice.

About unbound/ed, you should be right, since it's your native language.

Guess my mistake lies within the conjugation of the word, in combination with the fact that in this sentence (translated into German) the word "unbound" is conjugated into a form which is just like the past tense of it. Because of that "unbounded" sounds more right to me (even if it's wrong). xD

But of course the right word should be used, I edited the sentence in posting #1.^^

How good quality do you require?

I can gladly give it a shot as a one-off thing, but my recording equipment is hardly... well.. I've got a microphone, and that's pretty much the best I can say of my equipment. ;)

@odinnightowl:

Alright, I'm looking forward to it.

@Warpmind:

I don't know. Best would be if you record it and post it here / send it to me via private message.

I myself only have an USB microphone, too. For some one-liner it is okay, I think.

Also it depends on the voice actor. ;)

Ehhh, okay, tried to see what I could do, and I can't get rid of a rather ridiculous amount of reverb and background noise.

That's what I get for having a cheap mike and no decent recording software. :stare:

Not something I'd even begin considering good enough for external use. ;_;

@Warpmind: Too bad, but thanks for trying.

@Iron Croc: That sounds very professional. :thumbsup-right:

So, if you want  to, just record the sentence I've posted in a few variations.^^

What program do you use for recording?

I'm so sorry dude, I hadn't been able to do much of anything recently because of situations, but I can get your line to you tonight if you still need it. :)

I wandered in here by accident and figured I'd give it a try just for fun (Iron Croc will no doubt be your best bet. He's pretty good. But meh, like I said, it's fun)

Then I found out my mic is busted. I went to try recording with my phone (no doubt great quality </sarcasm>) and the dog upstairs didn't stop barking for about an hour straight and the mic picks it up. The second he stopped barking somebody started doing laundry. Supernova is cursed.

@Iron Croc:

No need to apologize. Though of course I am still interested.

@Dragnfly:

Too bad. But if I ever need a barking dog- or a laundry sound, I will let you know. xD

LOL actually an old broken laundry machine (drum vibrating in the chassis) has been quite useful for horror sounds with some editing. Very Silent Hill sounding.

Anyway, I was doing some recording to test out a replacement mic in relative peace and quiet and decided to try your line. It's not horrible but not great and there's a really nasty problem between Super and Nova and I'm not skilled enough to fix it without making it sound like I'm saying Super Noah (which would be awesome but no). I re-recorded just that part of the line a few times and the problem happens each time.

I saved it in .wav (3.46mb) so feel free to do any extra editing. There's also a .ogg version.

I really like how your voice sounds Dragnfly.  Hooly crap. o_o  Except for the clipping at the end your voice reminds me a lot of a really buff'd out Shadow the Hedgehog. :p

Thanks. I had to look up what Shadow sounded like. LOL I knew of Shadow but I really didn't know anything about him. I didn't even think he had a voice. Heck before 10 minutes ago I didn't even think the Sonic universe had that many humans in it.

You've got a really good voice for the "young hotshot detective" archetype with a good Ranga The Bloodedge-style exasperated raised pitch in your "what the hell!?" line in your sample above.

@Dragnfly:

Thanks for your effort. :)

But almost simultaneously to your posting, Iron Croc sent me his recording and I've decided to take his one.

So, the thread can be closed.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
