A fantasy, adventure, JRPG.
However, with this new energy, sparked desires thought extinguished. Nations frantically studied this energy, attempting to be the first... to create weapons of mass destruction unlike any every seen before. Having never seen this energy, called Seryl, no one knew how to defend against it. Hence, before they knew it, mankind had suffered Seryl Armageddon.
Now, centuries after this event, the surviving few have established themselves on a mysterious island, seemingly untouched by the warheads. Having vowed to never advance technology past what is necessary, mankind finds themselves in a perpetual age, similar to medieval times. But certain desires can not be extinguished. Manipulating Seryl in new and innovative ways, individuals unsuccessfully attempt to overthrow civilisation. However, it's only a matter of time before chaos takes over...
Story Synopsis
The Shadowcasters were able to summon clones, shadows, of themselves at will. Hell-bent on destroying civilisation, it seemed that there was none who could oppose them. None, that is, until the Bandits were formed.
After his home town was destroyed by the Shadowcasters, Rivel, at the age of 7, was taken in by Malice to be one of the leaders of his new organisation, the Bandits. But that was over a decade ago. The Bandits killed the last Shadowcaster a few years ago and since then the Bandits have served no purpose. At least, that's what Rivel thought...
After uncovering the dark truth behind the Bandits, Rivel flees for his life, only to stumble upon a magic he thought long gone...
Unwittingly, Rivel becomes a Shadowcaster...
Characters
Throughout the story, the perspective will switch between two protagonists: Rivel and Hornet. Rivel will be accompanied by his two shadows.
Hornet is part of MYST, a group of six comprised of the brightest and strongest in Malament. They're dedicated to stopping groups like the Shadowcasters, should any more arise.

Fare Ruin, a strange terminal lies outside.
A boulder puzzle in the current demo (don't expect many of these throughout the game).
Tensions rise between childhood friends.
Why, it's a Slime Staff of course! Along with some Concentrated Slime Goop and 6mL of that precious, precious Lucrum.
Rivel rockin' the Thief primary class with Cryomancer as the Magic, allowing him to flaunt that sweet Slime Cloak!
The entire game is set in the continent of Lemuria. Lemuria is a continent primarily made up of a single island - Malament. Vast, dense forests and mountains occupy the landscape, with a few towns scattered throughout. The towns that do exist are governed by a group known as the Elite Vanguard, comprised of the continent's best lateral thinker, best fighter, an elected Tenenbra representative and a member of the Royal Bloodline (King or Queen). However, the current rulers are often distant from the people, the current King hasn't left his castle in years and the previous Queen disappeared.

Despite the tiny number of towns scattered across the continent, there is an abnormally large number of ruins. These are remnants of a time gone by, Before a vast series of events that left Lemuria desolate; unpopulated.

But the most iconic of all of the ruins are the remnants of the structures that utilised the many caves across Lemuria - the subterrion. Subterrion are large castles that were built underground.
The eerie Bocidia Subterrion (not available in current demo)
Surrounding Lemuria are the countless "Lost Lands" of the world. These are islands that have become inhospitable due to their irradiated nature. Nothing grows on these islands, and nothing lives on these islands... besides their legends, that is.
Humans aren't the only self-aware species to inhabit the continent. The small imp-like creatures known as the Domin Tenenbrarius (Tenenbra for short) are natives to the land, occupying a few mines around the place. Although their primary form of communication is through body language and facial expressions, they are able to learn and speak English.
Elves also occupy the continent, however, they are confined to the north side of Dyatlov Pass, mostly residing in Wintercrest Forest. There exists some racial tension between humans and the elves and they have been in a constant state of war for decades; although now they seem to just keep out of each other's way.

LoreVery little is known of Lemuria's past, but that which is, is bleak at best. All documents of history have long since been lost, and attempts of recording current events are few to none. The only news that is passed from parents to children is through word of mouth.
A story goes of the King whose wife and child were murdered. There were rumours that one particular King would father a child destined to destroy Lemuria. And so, when the Queen became pregnant, the King did everything in his power to protect her from those that may attempt to harm the baby...
It was a stormy night on which the child was born, and it was taken as a very grim omen. Inevitably, an assassin showed to kill the baby. The countless royal guards situated by the Queens side... let him through. The King didn't make it to his wife's aid in time, and the assassin had disappeared without a trace. The head of the Royal Guard lost his, and the others were banished from the capital.

Respawn instead of Game OverBecause game overs suck (lose nothing on death, but respawn at last respawn location).

(not available in demo)
They also drop unique loot! Each secret (and sometimes not so secret) boss has there own, unique (visually and effects-wise) set of equipment to be collected.
