Hi,

I want to use RPG XP on a computer where I don't have the ability to use the RTP + RPGXP installer.

I copy/paste my two Enterbrain directories (RGSS &RPGXP) and I get the message "RGSS-RTP Standard not installed" message. I saw that RPGXP.exe use some registry entries that could explain this fact.

I tried to paste the RGSS files inside RPGXP directory but that's KO too.

So here is my question : has someone a solution to avoid this registry check or to make the product work without having to use the RTP installer ?

I tried to find a solution on the Internet but until now I'vent found the answer. It seems to be an expert question.

Thanks for your help guys !

you cannot simply copy files, because the installer also needs to program some settings into Windows.

Why don't you have the ability to use the installer on that other computer?

That usually happens only if there was an admin who restricted your access rights - and that is usually done for a good reason, for example to protect a company network from viruses and abuses. If that's the case, do you really want to risk your job to be able to work on a game in your breaks?

If you think that you have the legal rights to install RM on that computer, then you can either ask that computer's admin, or there might be a windows error preventing you from installing when there were no admin-restrictions placed on that computer.

But in the case of windows errors, you need to repair windows (or risk loosing your data) instead of looking for ways around the bug.

I plan to use my RPG program at office where i've not the admin rights. If so, i wouldnt have ask for help ^^ At home, I made a registry extract of keys to understand the link between RPGXP and RTP.

If the link was only "window" stuff (DLL or PATH for example), I could be able to fix it easily. But I cannot figure what exactly the main program needs to be standalone.

I know for example that you can launch your game without the RTP by modifying the INI file of your game.

If you want to risk your job, that's your thing - but this is also an official company site, and telling you how to hack your companies's network might get Degica into big trouble.
And if your company's admin knows his business, there will be no way to bypass that restrictions anyway.

I'm closing this before it gets into even more troubling areas...

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
