I am trying to put a day/night cycle in my game, but the catch is I don't want to use the "Tint Screen" command, but rather make a separate night map so I can alter lighting implements and shadows (like removing the night tint around bright lights).

As I am using parallax mapping, I could use some guidance on how exactly to replicate the effect the Tint Screen command would have. Any tint I try to put over the picture in Photoshop just makes it look like a very fakey transparent color screen on the map.

The closest I've been able to get is using a curve layer mask, but the closer i get to the right color, the contrast gets way too stark and it kinda hurts my eyes. I could use some advice for this!

I was listening to songs by Chuck E Cheese's voice actor (Jaret Reddick from Bowling for Soup) when the meds I was taking for my stomach virus apparently stopped working. I can't take my next dose until morning, but it's no use anyway. I'm officially sick again. Of course, I'll definitely take the next dose either way, but it's useless now.

I suddenly feel like making a game for little kids: a pointless sandbox of cute animals, silly collectibles, and random mini games.
