Map event mechanics for MV

Alright, you guys know the classic "I just beat a boss" scenario for Final Fantasy games right?

The ones where just after you beat the boss or escape the tunnel, something happens on the map that makes it to where you can or cannot go through.

I would like to know the best-looking way to do that with an RPGMMV game.

Switches and events - and this question (as all "how to" questions) belongs to MV support, not into a general game mechanic discussion.


If you don't know how to use switches, I suggest working through the basic tutorials (for example the ones linked in my starting point tutorial) as you will need that knowledge for about everything.

You can also make a second version of the map if there are huge changes made, and just change the entrances to take you to that one instead after the event.
