My sleep schedule is still all over the place, so enjoy your official announce a bit early! (I noticed that everyone who was paying attention already knew as our second place participant already congratulated the winner)

Congratulations to @Calamitous Magic for the victory (and @coucassi for the title of the Map Oracle), and thanks to both the organizers and all the participants for an interesting and inspiring contest! Even though I didn't make it past Round 1, I feel like I've learned a lot from the maps I've made and others' contest entries. The balance between visual interest and clarity (amongst other things) can be a delicate one at times, and hopefully I can become better in that. :)

(I'm also not-so-secretly hoping that we get our prizes on Monday 10th before the Golden Week sale ends, but no stress, haha.)

I'll probably do them late on Sunday to be honest.

Congratulations @Calamitous Magic! And thank you for saving my victory too ;) I actually ended up voting for the other entry, since I really liked @WaywardMartian s light effect on the floor beneath the Windows and that additional rooms where include. But it was a really hard choice. Loved the cage and the organ : D

Would also be interested, especially since I actually didn't : D
My guess was @Puffer winning the finale vs WaywardMartian. Still after looking through the maps again, all four semi-finalists would have been deserved winner! So many awesome maps :D

I already stay up that late, of course I was lurking the forum and counting down the seconds. ;)

I forgot to vote the last round, but seeing the result, not like it would have made any difference, anyway. XD

Congrats to the winner, and all those who got past the preliminary. =w=

Thank you everyone and thank you to Wayward Martian for an epic final clash (still laughing at the similarities!). It was nerve-wracking waiting for the clock to tick over to reveal the results. Thank you to Admin for running this contest. What a challenge! It was great to see everyone upping their game as each round went on. I had an absolute blast and learned a heap and got some awesome inspiration from the other entries. I also found it incredibly interesting to see how different we all are in what we look for in a map. I hope we can do this again next year so I can try to defend my crown!

which map was the winner that @Calamitous Magic made?

I sometimes had trouble finding things too so you're not the only one. Here's the link in case you haven't found it yet. :)

I felt a bit bad about winning the Oracle Badge without getting the winner right and not even voting for her (I am so sorry Calamitous Magic x.x). But I think it's very cool to have a winner noone has predicted! But now can be sure you'll not be underestimated again : D
I really enjoyed this event and if there is a next time, I'll hopefully be able to participate!

the winner image should be placed on this firs post just in case =)
but it amaze me how many good mappers are there, specially with
lightning effect in them to bring it to life.

it wont be easy, specailly in a short time to finish a map for the contest.
I cannot wait till the next one with the great maps, maybe I join for fun,
see how bad my maps are compared to others :p

I rather take my time, but keep up the awesome work to all great mappers :)

Nice contest. Hope we can do this again sometime. Doesn't have to be a huge prize pool to attract me - I just like the contest in general myself.

That was the great thing about this. I usually take eons making a map (big or small) - hence my never to be completed game. This made me really have to concentrate and think about exactly what I wanted to do - and actually do it! Although my goal is to not make huge, sprawling, maps full of nothing much, this has nevertheless really made me rethink some of my larger maps to see if I can bring them down without becoming cluttered. So some good lessons learnt I think.

Ditto. Though, having said that, I am hoping the prize is in US dollars and not Australian. :guffaw:

This event was great, I really like the head to head competition. I'd love more bracketed tournements like this.
Congrats to @Calamitous Magic for the win!

Got new hard drive, now trying to install the softwares I lost to the dead drive, and more than half of them won't install because they're already installed on the dead drive, and uninstallers won't run because they can't find where their programs are installed. So I take it having a drive die on you screws you in more ways than just data loss. >:\
PC got fixed finally. Back online again. Turns out I have no business trying to self repair pcs because it was getting to like 176F / 80C. Shop installed a totally new cooling system and now it runs fine and is super quiet.
