Map objective pinpoint

Hi guys, I've got a bit of a issue regarding helping a player know where to go on the game to progress- you see my game isn't intended to be your standard- one room to the next to complete it. My game's world is a large city where many large maps connect the city streets to each other where some maps have accessable buildings. The issue is helping the player locate where to go by using a map or pinpoint indicator. For lack of an explaination- Grand theft auto/ Elderscrolls make excellent examples of pinpointing where to go.
 The trouble is how to implement it and what plugin out there can help ( if there is such a plugin)


I am considering most logical and easiest way of accomplishing it is by having a World map handy that can be accessed by the menu, or atleast transport you to a room of a map. And if a location on the map has an objective, the location could be highlighted or have a arrow on it etc.


Has anyone thought of this- or already made such a thing?

no need for a plugin - you can do that by eventing alone.


Make such a world map as you make a regular map, just smaller with each tile standing for a room or so.


Wherever there is an objective, place an event that shows only when that objective is active


make a item for the map that calls a common event. In that event, store current position in variables before transfering to the world map. Optionally make the player invisione or switch off followers (especially if you need to move a pointer on the world map)


all exists from the world map should transfer back to the stored point.

Reminds me of a very old RPG Maker VX Ace project I worked on that was pretty much the same thing, however that one involved fast travel locations ( which I will not be doing in this one as the highways are the warpzones for fast travel)


Just to add- I feel I should add the map option with a plugin from the player menu rather than having to access it through invintory- my next thought would be- would there be a way to project where the player currently is on the world map- how can I have a location on the map broadcast where the player is currently?

Has anyone got a good idea how I can pinpoint the players position to an associated area on map?

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
