Hello everyone!

I used XP for YEARS and loved how mapping was done in that engine, but I can't seem to get a grasp of how it works in MV.

What sort of tips and tricks can you guys offer me to help alleviate some of my stress in map making?

Is there an easy way to bring the XP Tiles into MV? (I always liked the way XP's environments looked)

Remember, I straight out of XP and into MV, meaning I haven't touched any of VX/VXA.

Thanks in advance!

A lot of things that were done manually in XP have become automated - which means easier but also out of your control.

You no longer select a map layer, but the editor selects the layer to place the tile for you, depending on where in the tileset the tile is placed.

A-tiles automatically go to the bottom layer. There are two upper layer for the B to E tiles, and they are placed there in the order you place them on the map, unless one of those tiles has a star passability that overrides that order.

To erase upper-layer B-E tiles, you need to place the first B tile.

The official tutorials teach the basics of mapping, and there is a tutorial for shift-click-mapping which is needed to override the autotile function.

You can find links to all that in my starting point (see my signature)

Okay. These tutorials seem to be helping for the most part! Thank you very much.

My other question is different now.

How would I go about converting XP tiles into MV tiles? is just a matter of some image editing and importing or is there more to it?

There is more to it - in case of the autotiles.

For regular tiles you just need to resize, but in the case of autotiles the structure was changed from one based on 3x3 tiles to one based on 2x2 tiles, and that means that XP-Autotiles need to be reworked for use in VX/VXA/MV (and additionally resized in the case of MV). That is not simple.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
