Here's my entry:

When cooking becomes a boring daily chore and lacks any thrill, there's no better way to rekindle the spark by challenging your skills in a cooking contest!

"Al Dente" Cooking Contest is a short mini-game that features a 3-round cooking challenge against 3 different chefs. Help Dylan to carefully choose what dishes to prepare in order to please the judges, who have different tastes.
Try to beat the 3 chefs, win the contest and claim the prize!

FEATURES
  • 24 dishes to prepare, using 4 different spices that will affect both the dishes and the judges scores.
  • A total of 6 judges with their own tastes who will rate your dishes.
  • 3 chefs to defeat.
  • Randomized judges.
  • Short and silly storyline with a few small secrets.
  • Overused Emotion Balloon Icons.
  • You can make pizza in this game. That's totally a feature!
  • Also features our all time favourite hero as a judge: Harold! *waits for applause*
GAME LENGTH
  • Around 30 minutes.
HINTS
  • Pay attention to the introduction of every judge, it will give a vague hint about what they might like.
  • The judges appear randomly and have specific likes and dislikes, although they might compromise with some dishes. It's advised to take notes and experiment while you play.
  • Since this is a short minigame, you can't save. If you lose the round, you can try again without needing to restart everything.
  • You have to beat the score of the enemy chef. Since you are the challenger, if you have a tie score, the enemy chef will win.
CONTROLS

Selection - Arrow keys\Mouse\Numpad

Confirm - Enter\Spacebar\Left Mouse Click\Z

Cancel - Esc\Right Mouse Click\X

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

@GoodSelf Ha ha, yeah. It does get pretty nuts sometimes. I forgot to mention this, but it's entirely done by me. I forgot to put credits, though:

@Zheg : Could you please reupload your mini-game. I can't seem to download it to try. :kaocry:
@dragoonwys :
Your mini-game looks like fun, although it looks more like it's based on luck than anything else. I would personally prefer a bit of hint of where the ball might drop. Never play Pachinko before, though.
@hiddenone :
It was really fun to find the fairy. I love memory and concentration games like this one.
@GoodSelf :
It was a fun little game to try to avoid the heroes, while having to switch on the switches, and get the treasure chests. I expected the collision with the heroes to force me to restart the current level, but they simply disappeared. At least in this way, I got to play all the way to the end. Good job. :kaojoy:
@Matic :
Yours is a nice memory and fetch game, although I personally found it a bit tedious to keep memorising the different places of the ingredients each time, and the slow speed of the player makes it feel a bit more of a chore than it probably should have been. Those gripes aside, good work with your game. :kaophew:
@KerriganSaila :
Nice little push-the-boxes game. It was a bit slow to get to the actual mini-game. My only gripes were the pink tint and that I had to restart the levels from the beginning even if I lost at level 3.
@Dalph :
Your game sucks~ *shot!* :kaoback:
Yes, really.
Okay, so I admit, it was pretty hilarious, and fun. The results were varying too. I wouldn't say too much here, because it'll spoiler a lot of fun stuff about the game. :kaosalute:

@Susan
I know!~ *shot!* :kaojoy:
No, really.
Thanks a lot for testing that thing, I'm glad you enjoyed! ;)

For who's interested (probably nobody) my mini-game is now available here on itch.io and will probably have an Android version too, once I will figure it out how to properly convert to mobile devices.
I'll play the other entries too and give some feedback as well.

Didn´t have time to draw 4 of the fairies, and realized that the beautiful thumbnail I made appears nowhere...;_;(why have a thing to put thumbnails if they appear no where?!:distrust:a)
It´s a rock paper scissor game with the fairies. The aim is to win and make some coins...:popcorn:
Have funnnnnnn!:kiss::kiss::kiss:

Twisted Fates Episode 1

TLDR: Three mini-games in one possible dark-fantasy adventure series.
  • Cipher - A cleric gets garbled messages from spirits. You help her decipher what they are. The ciphering process is randomized with each attempt. If you watched "Gravity Falls", you'll probably like this.
  • Number Guess - The witch picks a number, and the hero has three chances to guess it right.
  • Cobweb-Heart-Light Bulb - It's like Rock-Paper-Scissors, but I didn't have time to create speech balloon icons. :guffaw:
  • There are six secret achievements to discover.
  • Following the short story is optional. The series will evolve as a dark-fantasy-comedy, but if people don't find it funny, then it's just dark-fantasy-ish. :D
  • Credits are included in the game as well. I used Time Fantasy assets by Jason Perry, music by Ben Sound, and additional scripts (Core and Message) by Yanfly.
I'll upload a full version (with RTP) on my itch.io account later on.
I'm not sure if you need RPG Maker VX Ace to play the version below.
Edit: Added the itch.io page in the Download section below.
This includes the full version of the game; this is only necessary if you don't have RPGM RTP. :cutesmile:

If you play the game and find bugs, please let me know. Thank you!

@kenibatz I also went with the rock paper and scissor mini game(which was actually the easy part and is finished).:popcorn:(any help you need, I made them with variables and conditional branches, send PM if needed...which I´m sure you won´t need, but if needed, it´s there...):kiss:
Thank you, Gin! Figured it out after a while. Then I created several new problems for myself. Right until the last minute of development. :D

@kenibatz Smart! 3 games in one is awesome. I'm also loving the Time Fantasy tiles!
Thanks, GoodSelf! Yeah, Time Fantasy is one of my favorite DLCs.

@Susan yeah that was the original idea, but I realized that dying and being sent back was totally not fun. Instead, I opted to have them be able to finish the level, and perhaps want to try again for a better score.

@KerriganSaila your mini game has a very sweet vibe to it, and the music and surroundings are so beautiful...I love it!:kiss:(although I just found 7 roses...did anyone got more than 7?:blink:a)
@GamesOfShadows That party was really rocking!\:guffaw:/ Love the packman fun game, and the pizza ingredients I caught like 7 or 8(at the second try, cause the first I only got 3) and later am going to try and make a bigger pizza!:popcorn:
@kenibatz love the char sprites. They are so cuteeeeee. And they have amazing face expressions when laughing.:p The story is super engaging, and the prizes are...
...THE BEST EVERRRRRR!!!!
But I feel tempted to hit them in the head when I lose, and they take away my possessions!>_>
@Dalph, the story is super cool. I´m stuck with the second cook but it was because I started researching recipes...especially that pudding made with rice.:blink:a But I´ll definitely play it till the end and become the best cook of them all!!! \:cutesmile:/

This event is beyond fun...Great work everyone!:kiss:

@GoodSelf : I agree, and I like the choice you made with this game. Made it more fun than tedious.
@KerriganSaila : Thanks a lot! I enjoyed playing your game a lot. :kaojoy:
@Gin: Glad that you completed your game! Your fairy portraits are adorable, and even the gingerbread man is so cute! :kaoluv:
Regarding KerriganSaila's game, you have to go north into the building after getting the 7 roses and speak to the lady. She'll give you the roses after you complete her chore. As for Dalph's game, I assure you that some surprises await. :kaoswt:

@GamesOfShadows : The pizza ingredients catching mini-game was fun. I didn't play much through the pac man mini-game due to lighting getting in the way.
@kenibatz : I enjoyed the Number Guessing mini-game first, followed by Cipher and least of all the Rock Paper Scissors (due to the complete randomisation). I didn't complete the game to the end yet, but it's overall enjoyable.

Great work to everyone who completed a mini-game in such a short time. You're all winners in my eyes. :kaopride:

@Gin:
Thanks for checking it out, some recipes don't actually make much sense because it's still fantasy and nonsense after all, but that specific pudding is really made with rice and does exist in real life (it's an asian dessert).
If you have troubles with the fairy chef try to look at the judges descriptions and appearances, you will get a good idea of what they might like (the little princess has a sweet tooth so loves food with sugar for example and might dislike the opposite). The final boss is even harder so be careful there. If you really can't beat the boss chefs just pm me and I will give you the solutions.
Thanks again for playing, glad you had fun.

About your entry:
Very nice looking custom portraits, did you draw them by yourself? I think Apple Sprinkles is my favourite among the fairies there and the prettiest of the lot. Good idea, very colorful map too. I used to play Rock, Paper and Scissors a lot when I was a kid and was always terrible at it.
I used to spam the Rock all the time and thought it was unbeatable, haha.

@Dalph I finished. I had to replay the last level a few times before realizing how to break the rules...:p Loved the story, and my favorite dishes were:
-the caramelized salmon and the nutelosa...ahahah! Even laughed with the nutelosa name.
I tried to make the black hole dish the evil cook made but didn´t found the combination for it...:headshake:
It sure was a fun mini game.:kiss::kiss::kiss:

@Susan Thanks for the tip. I´m going to check it. The first time I walked around but didn´t find anyone else except the boy that says something about me being beautiful...eheheh.:wub

@Gin
Congratulations for beating the final boss and figuring out the strategy (it's definitely not easy to beat him).
The Nutellosa really exists, it's a special pizza we have here in Italy with Nutella on it.
The Black Hole Cake is an exclusive dish of Overlord Fork, you can't make it sadly (he pretty much cheats with it, that's why you have to cheat too to beat him, just in a different way).
I'm happy you liked the game, thanks a lot for playing it. Looking forward to see more of your projects as well.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
