1) get some funds to commission some stuff for my main project
2) get to grips with VN-Maker for my secondary project
3) help on the projects I help out at
4) visit the kid in hospital as much as I can (no not my own for those not in the know)
5) enjoy the spring

And that should keep me busy for a good while :)

I would like to finish writing a tutorial in May, as it seems that it would be the best way for me to give back to the community - considering my ability to put a likeness on a piece of paper or in an art program is on the negative scale. Other than that...

a) Normalize all my projects to make demos, betas, and releases easier to deal with.
b) Get a new solid Alpha/Beta rolled out for the Catgirl Maid Cafe, because the world needs more Catgirls. (How about a plot? That would help.)
c) Implement the investigatory aspect to my main project (Phobos), and lay the groundwork for ship-2-ship combat.
d) Survive the May showers to see the June flowers!

I still haven't fully processed the fact that tomorrow is May, honestly. But, I suppose I should make goals for it nonetheless.
For this build:
- Polish up a couple of things
- Balance my enemies properly
- Make the first battleback
- Find myself some new playtesters :aswt:
- Make sure I didn't mess up the flow of the game too badly with my testing

In general:
- Figure out a name for my tavern theme so I can put it in my game
- Quit slacking on the shop and battle themes
- Get some more gameplay systems in place
- Continue to fix my sprites
- Find out how to make my load screen display actual information
- Potentially update my thread with some meaningful progress

Probably a bit too ambitious for one month, but I can always recycle some of these goals for June.

April has been madness so I hope I can make more progress on May...
For my game:
-Finish a bust (if I learn how to draw hair) and start another.
-Go back to research fairytales for the story.

For my shared-game:
-Maps! Finish all the maps left (all the exteriors ones... yai... T_T)
-Continue writing scenes OR start with the journal entries.

Time for my goals too.
-Finish The Book of Shadows. To do that I need to do the following:

-Finish my testing run. I'm taking my dear sweet time with this testing run too, as I want to be sure I catch any bugs that are there. I 'd say I'm testing 2 Chapters a week at this pace. Currently at midway Chapter 5.
-Update the trailer.

Also I'd like to start official work on my next game. The database is done, so I need to update the skills, then it is time to map.

Development of new plot material is top stack going into the new month. Will not be immediate because incorporation of Golden Week standards, however in connection with my core subject material I am in fact going to build out an epic biologic contingency fail. That means anti-vaxx conspiracy theorists, which in this case means that someone holds position against exposure to "neural poison". (For the avoidance of doubt against common belief, that is actually not the case - and yet some people are just too stupid to stop.)

Whelp, it's May. I didn't get any sort of demo done for RSW. I failed on keeping track. With less pressure and highly likely, less time, I'm going to try and just work towards getting a demo done for Curious Case of DS.

That includes:
  • Necessary NPCs (suspects, students, those that Alex needs to talk with)
  • Maps for the college campus
  • Events
  • Story work
And since the university is at Innsmouth, I need to read the Shadow over Innsmouth. I'm thinking about adding some references to that.

So April wasn't awful for game dev, but I did sure have issues with actually posting updates... So I'm basing my May goals on that problem.
  • Post at least once a week in this thread, even if there's not much to share
  • Play some more demos and leave feedback
I'm starting the month off pretty well, since I got my evented menu to a 'good enough' stage so I can move on to other things.

Completely forgot to post the past weeks (I got the placeholders for Tile B done btw, yay!), and since I managed to finish half my April goals, some of the rest will become my new May goals:
  • finish the greyscale placeholder tilesets (only C left)
Will change/add to the list once I finish that, which will hopefully be this month.
Hopefully.

Busy day at work, but I tried to advance a bust... I went from this:

I hated how the hair was turning out so I just closed everything and tomorrow will be another day xD perhaps tomorrow will be a map day.

I actually got back on the hoss. I decided to work on a boss battle that actually features a few stages. Actually, I had to develop some animations along with some new skills (aptly named Enemy Skills). One of them involves a transformation but I already have the plugins required for it. So far it works okay except the character can still swing a weapon and do normal damage. I'll have to work on that. I also need to figure out how to A) Revive a Dead enemy, that isn't hard to figure out. But I have 4 colored Bats ( thanks Avery or Maru) but only 1 appears at a time. So whenever one of the bats ends up dead, the witch will check to see if It's dead and bring it back to life. But only one bat at a time. It might be complicated.

As intended I didn't work on much more than was already written in whole or part, however I still ended up having some creative moments upend my approach to Golden Week procedures. The anti-vaxx scenario is coming along well and I have now connected it to an introduction sequence regarding affairs upon the High Zenith. Obviously I saved this for after the orbulons are united for activation of the sky transport unit in the original design - but then again, desperate situations do call for the most extreme and desperate solutions available. In this case, the assault on the sacred tree of life now occurs sooner than initially planned for the purpose of cleaning up the mess caused by the "neural poison" conspiracy theorist and her "little meddlesome one". I also built out more into an existing area from earlier in the story to build some added references to build out background information on the lore and story as a whole, which in turn expands upon the associated crew member's hometown by consequence.
