In the past, before this new "Quantum", firefox's javascript engine (Called SpiderMonkey) was a lot slower than chrome's V8 engine. But recently tests are show that this game is changing.

So what's your opinion? Do you expect firefox's SpiderMonkey to surpass Chrome's V8 Engine? Do you think that if so, NodeJS/NwJS will someday start using it? What's your opinion about the future of Javascript(Comparing it to other languages)?

Node itself uses the V8 engine, and NWJS is based on Node... so it is very unlikely that would happen. A similar project COULD in theory be made however.

Yes but probably it doesn't have any modifications. Probably all it do is...well... compile and execute javascript. Which will run basically the same way that would in SpiderMonkeys.

Anyway, I'm excited about those news on firefox's javascript engine. Chrome's performance developed a lot when it had many competitors, but once others were "left behind"(and some even gave up on their engines, and started using chromium, like Opera), performance started going down.

People already use spidermonkey (and even MS Edge's JS engine) on node.

I can't stand firefox JS engine, I always have a 10-30fps drop in all webgl/canvas games, again same thing with the latest release. Although the latest firefox I only tested on Linux and not Windows, I'll check it out on Windows before bashing firefox for it's crappy webgl/canvas performance.

That being said, now that chrome has competition again it won't surprise me if they once again pass Firefox and improve their engine even more. So switching engines just because firefox has another 15minutes of Fame is not smart from a software product standpoint. Having the latest and greatest is good but things change so quickly that in a year it will no longer be all that great lol.

Weird, never had problems with firefox and games...

Anyway, but at least from market viewpoint, it's really great, since Microsoft's browsers are mostly never near as good, Opera gave up on engine competition, and i think that safari is not even a thing anymore for windows/linux.And it's even better since firefox's engine is open.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
