Hope we get: tricorn hats, pistols, sabres, frilly shirts and eyepatches in this pack.
@The Stranger And a shoulder-perching parrot! Wouldn't that be funny?
But yes to tricorns, hopefully some hot jackets, and arrr... I dunno... tattoos?..
@starlight dream I second the parrot
Yes tattoos! That would be awesome
A look at a few of the pirate character pieces. The base template is a specialty one that is included in the pack, a barnacle-encrusted "drowned" template (there are 3 normal person templates as well, for 4 of each gender).
Got head rags, pirate hats, eye patch, some larger overcoats, buccaneer attire, cutlass/sabres. Still working on it all, the character pieces are a very slow and boring process. As for pistols, I will take a look at the existing animations and see if something can work for them, but it might not work out for those.
It's all coming along, slowly but surely. Got most of the tiles done, but I want to try and make some animated waves that can be placed like events, though I accept that might be a very difficult task. I have some shipwrecks added now as well (will show those soon), and want to add some new types of large rocks/cliffs.
I love how "smooth" everything looks in here - for lack of a better word. The vegetation is especially lovely.
Wow that ship is super sexy haha gonna have to buy this pack when it’s out just like I buy the rest of them and then maybe I’ll actually have to get a project together using the many packs I have bought already from Jesse
That's just nasty! Where are my tavern wenches and salty seamen?
The Drowned template is very grotesque - I love it! The pirate attire looks fantastic, too. Great work, @Jesse - PVGames!
Wow very Pirates of the Caribbean. Great work as always Jesse
More work on clothing items, almost done with most of the clothes for the male templates. This pack won't be as heavy on the clothing options as some of the other packs since it is more focused and themed.
What kind of monsters can we expect to see in the High Seas set? Mermaids? Sirens, harpies, ghosts...? Or any new animals like seals, krakens/octopuses, or large island turtles? Or just regular turtles? Pirates have to have turtle stew and seamen have to make a living off of seal skins or whale blubber/oil. I'm getting a Peter Pan/ Odyssey/ Pirates of the Caribbean vibe and I'm loving it.
There's no better time to release the Kraken... Or the sea serpent.
Got a small video clip this time around to show some of the animated elements in action. This was made in MV using Galv's Layers plugin only, along with events.
The water, the waves, the clouds, fish, and everything else seen here is included in the Medieval: High Seas resource pack.
That made me hungry. Crab legs anyone? Impressed by the waves too...
The waves could've been timed better for the demo, something you could certainly tweak to your own liking. It uses four frames of animation, and is set up like the door animations used by RPG Maker by default (so facing down, then turn left, turn right, turn up).
I have long waited for exactly that kind of animated ocean waves! I am really looking forward to this set! Love the scurrying crab too! Can we expect to see beach clutter? Like starfish, seashells, driftwood, etc that we can use to decorate the beaches with?
The waves are beautiful. Great work, @Jesse - PVGames.
Hoping everything's going alright. We'd have received an update...
Yep, everything is coming along, albeit slow
I am in the midst of the "long slog" aspect that accompanies every resource pack. I am doing all the boring and tedious work that needs to be done but doesn't really yield anything fun to look at!
The pack is most of the way finished at this point though. There are plenty of smaller things I want to throw in, and I am sure I will forget some things as well.
