That's one of the reasons why I said it looked ultra modern.  Also, it should be a plain parapet (that's the word you were searching for) whereas here it is more of a balustrade.

When you see the bridge in context of its matching set pieces, it looks like it belongs a lot better. The error is mine in using it in a scene where it is out of context. There is another, smaller wooden bridge also that perhaps would have been more appropriate to use in this particular setting. I might do one more, perhaps, made of stone (like a small foot bridge).

I can sort of see that bridge going with some very fancy royal tiles. Maybe for a nice royal garden or summer palace. :)

The diagonal tiles are pretty interesting. Did you have diagonal tiles in previous packs?

@The Stranger - That is pretty much what that is part of - a fancier castle set.

@Tuskihime - I had a small handful but not many. Definitely far more diagonally-supported items this time around.

Messed around with a monster just to get an idea of what they may look like (this one specifically will not be included, but other kinds of dragons surely will):

I think the animation is a lot nicer than the previous versions, and overall better/higher quality. The frame sizes of all creatures will be much more logical and consistent and go by power of 2's (32x32, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256 etc) for technical reasons (basically maximize RAM useage/visual quality)

This looks like a huge step from Ace. You can see far more details now, like the muscles on the legs and the texture looks much better, if my eyes don't deceive me. The animation of the tail looks a bit stiff.

I've got to look up an old model and compare.

Shame you're not going to use that dragon. Regardless, it doesn't look as toy-like as in the past resources.

Another question about the release of these resources: Will you release all 5 packs at the same time or will they be released seperatly over a certain span of time?

Amazing. These packs will definitely be an instant purchase for me. I've recently begun shifting my focus in development to cRPGs and games with a lot of cRPG elements, and MV's default art style just doesn't match. I'm really getting a mid 90s cRPG vibe from these tilesets (your older Ace tiles kind of did that too, but due to the lower resolution it still didn't feel the same) and I can't wait to tinker around with them :)

Been working on the character-creation pieces. Each person comes with 50+ spritesheets for different poses, and a bunch of side-view battler poses for you to assemble your own battle sheets with if you want, though there is a MV style sheet included already. Also there are some new tiles worked into this picture as well. I spent far too longer on butchered pigs than I would have cared for.

@Gravija - I am not sure. I am working on 2 packs simultaneously right now, and would hopefully have a 3rd done shortly after. No idea about the releases yet though. Ideally I would have them all released at the same time or very shortly apart from each other since each one is meant to compliment the others and add on to them, but the smaller packs also allow for you to skip purchasing resources you might not want/need.

Finished the Town and Country character creation parts for the females (got all the male stuff ready to go, but have not yet processed it all). Here are a few examples:

As you can see, there are now templates for older people as well. They are not 100% perfect since in order for everything to work and fit together nicely, everyone has to share the same general body shape, so the old people will not be hunched over or particularly frail-looking, but their faces certainly look aged.

The Town and Country pieces focus more on 'generic' type clothing, nothing super heroic, no armor, it is mostly cloth (a little bit of leather here and there, a tiny bit of chain) and meant for townsfolk. The Interiors pack will have fancier clothing. The Warfare pack will have all sorts of armor and uniforms as well as tabards and tunics. I am thinking of adding another pack or mix it into one of the already planned ones that focuses on the more 'heroic' type clothing and armor.

Awesome stuff! Looking forward to creating game worlds in which people age. xD

In all seriousness, though - great work. I'm looking forward to playing around with these and using them in a project.

Oh hi, Flemeth. Feeling hyped, especially since anime chibis do not suit the feel I want to give. Also, I appreciate that you have a black model (even though the characters I intend to use them for lean more towards being gypsy-like.)

I don't even have words to describe how amazing these are! You can definitely count me in as buyer for these when they're done. I don't mind the chibi style of MV, it's appropriate for JRPG style games, but these are definitely better suited to some of te more "grown-up" stories I'd like tell.

And I don't even know what to call this series of resources as a whole. I keep referring to them as the New PV Games Pack. Hope to see many use your resources.

I must say I'm looking forward to the release of this pack. It looks very promising and would suit the themes of my project more than the chibi style of RTP.

I've a question:

Would enemies come with side-view static-image or spritesheet battlers?

All in all.. while I would love to get my hands on your work now. Please take your time. I want to buy a nice polished set of graphics for my project :p

*Puts your facebook page on my stalking list to watch for updates and release* :D

@SpellcraftQuill - This series of packs is called the Medieval set; the two that are almost done at present are Medieval: Town and Country (outdoors) and Medieval: Interiors (indoors). Medieval:Warfare will probably be the next, and Medieval: Dungeons and Caves

@JadenDew - I am doing animated battlers. I am confident there will be a plugin for MV that allows for animated enemies (worse-case scenario, just take whatever frame of animation you want and make that into a static battler). I will also do static frontview battlers for them as well, along with a bunch of various spritesheet animations as applicable to the enemy in question. Some will have more than others.

Hi, Jesse.
Nice to see an alternative style of graphic resource in MV.

I have two questions related with your resource:

  • Why you tend to add strong black border on your rendered character? For me it looks not matching well with the environment which have smooth edge.
  • May I request you to create diagonal view battler? I have plan to create a Final Fantasy IX battle system in MV like below video, but realize that prerendered 3D Battler like yours is more suitable for it.

Damn, took a chance on a paid MV plugin working with MZ (FOSSIL) but didn't work :p Been lucky up until now so I got cocky!

When I learned about multithreading in C++, one of the first things was that while heap is shared, each thread has its own stack and it's impossible to access another thread's stack.
So I wrapped the variables into a static class and passed its address to another thread. And it worked.
