Love your rendition of Alyssa, @Coelocanth! It reminds me a bit of Paladin's Quest which I love <3

Sorry for the long time without posting here, I have been unwell. Still, I should schedule myself time to work on these sporadically; had I worked on these for like 1 hour per week since July 2020 I would've made a ton of ****.

Here's a small update on the VXA cast:

Hopefully I can keep whipping away at this. Just getting all the base sprites done is a gargantuan task... Imagine turning them into full spritesheets with battle poses, walk cycles etc.
But surely at least giving them base poses while I slowly and sporadicaly work on extended spritesheets is of help -- people are free to turn them into full spritesheets and use them in their own games if they so desire for example. Welp.

What you've done with the MZ cast is just amazing. It's everything that I wish the RTP could have been. Thank you for sharing your progress on this; I think it looks incredibly good.

This all looks super fantastic. And that makes me curious, will you give all of these 4 directional (3-frame) walk animations too? And if you do, will we be bale to use these commercially somehow (free or fee does’t matter to me)?

TYSM! About how i'll expand them... Well, in an ideal world, I'd be able to turn every actor, monster and NPC in every RPG Maker RTP 8-directional sprites with emotes & full battle sprites. Just making the sideview idle of every rpg maker character ever made is already a monumental task, though.
So I really got to prioritize... And truth be told, I don't know how I'll do it.
I should think up of a way to make some financial returns with these. You know, I'm almost thirty, if I still were 14 I could justify pouring countless hours into making assets for the community but my health and productive time is downhill from here D:

So yeah, that's a lot of questions I can't answer. I'll for sure make idle sprites for all of them, and in a realistic scenario I'll release walking and battle sprites for some of them every now and then. People could be free to release their own versions, too. But in all honesty I don't know what approach I'll take.

I feel ya. I’m married and have recently passed 35 myself. Also have a daughter to feed and take care of so I know all about it. My time and energy is very limited and it always feels like I need more money because staying alive and well is expensive.
So with that said, I’m not against paying for stuff I want. Especially not if it’s high quality work like what you have going here. Wether that’d be Buying a DLC pack, some crowdfunding effort or a straight up commission fee doesn’t matter too much.

And on that note, while I wouldn’t be able to afford it any time soon,do you do commissions? And if you do, what would a 4 directional (3-frame) walking sprite in the above style cost...ish?

Just curious.

The next step will be to start making props (including distillers).
I just saw one of SigmaSuccor's RPG Maker news videos, it mentioned one of my plugins. Now I kind of wish I'd made a demo project for it, having nothing in that segment but a scroll down the code feels a little underwhelming given what the plugin COULD do. Except I suck at making demo stuff, and my testing project isn't fit for that. :(
Ok, to prepare for the GMTK Game Jam, I'm trying to make a game with the theme "The Cat's out of the Bag" in about 48 hours. I'd make a forum post with a question, but I don't have the time!
