I've got a probably stupid and simple question, but I'm about at my wits end here. I've looked for an answer, but I haven't really seen a relevant answer anywhere.

The way RPG Maker VX Ace is naturally set up is to play the "Confirm" or "Decision" sound when you open the menu. I'm trying to eliminate that. I still want the confirm sound when I make a decision, but not when I open the menu. Does anyone know how to fix this, or maybe a script I could use to fix this issue? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

For information, I only have the Yanfly message system installed (no other scripts).

Some of those sound effectds are selected and set in the database in the system tab.

Try what happens if you change the sounds there to none.

However I'm not sure which effects you describe - if those effects aren't listed in that tab or if you want them to disappear only in certain conditions and not everywhere, then you'll probably need a script changing the code of the screens where you don't want the sounds.

Yep. That's what I'm trying to figure out, lol. I've scoured the database, to no avail on my end.

In Scene_Map you can change this bit of code:

  def call_menu

    Sound.play_ok <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Delete or comment out this line.

    SceneManager.call(Scene_Menu)

    Window_MenuCommand::init_command_position

  end

Thank you! Just what I was hoping!

I know you got a solution there, but are you sure these aren't the ones you were looking for?

Yes, that is where the sounds are set up. But changing that to None would remove ALL the "ok" sounds, not JUST the one that plays when the menu opens.

I've moved this thread to RGSSx Script Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
