MICA - Monster Is Coming ARGGH!

    SECTION A: GAMEPLAY MECHANICS
    • There is no New game screen.
    • There is only one map which is a maze that is 17x13 (i.e.: maximum size without scrolling in RPG Maker MV).
    • You have to get to the exit before the Mica Munching Monster gets you.
    • Whole game should take 30 seconds or less to play.
    • It will be a browser game.
    SECTION B: CHARACTERS
    • Miner Michael: You.
    • Mica Munching Monster: Your adversary.
    SECTION C: STORYLINE/PLOT
    • Miner Michael Meets Mica Munching Monster
This is a spoof on the internet theme of writing stories in exactly six words.

You can read some really great Six word stories here.

For example here is two examples of 6 word stories:
    • "Born a twin. Graduated Only Child."
    • "BREAKING: Simulated beings realize they’re simulated."

SECTION D: SETTING AND/OR WORLD DEVELOPMENT
    • Michael has been sent to mine for Mica, but instead meets the Mica Munching Monster. ARGGGH!
    SECTION E: LICENSE
    • Contributors to MICA game will fill out a Contribution Agreement. This will ensure that he mica.js plugin will use the MIT License (which is in the best interest of the RMV Maker community as it will allow the plugin to be freely distributed & easily supported).
SECTION F: LETTER FROM JOY EXPLAINING THE PURPOSE

    Greetings,

The purpose of this project is to create a collaborative open source project to develop a plugin named mica.js which will allow complex monster movement for other games.

The plan is to help teach JavaScript by starting the simplest possible plugin & working with them :)
    • The game design, on purpose, is the most simple game I could come up with.
    • So we can focus on a plug in that is about 200 lines of JavaScript code (for the first version).
    • This will allow new people to play with some JavaScript easily play & learn with ... and not overwhelm them.
    • The initial game should take one day to develop & unit test & post.
    • This is follow the plan of Release Early, Release Often
I'm looking for feedback on this idea -- and if the community is interested in this:
    • The reason this is in ideas & prototypes is to talk about this project with the community & make any changes the community strongly leans towards.
    • Please give feedback.
    • I would like to find out if some members of the community offer to do art for the MICA game that is under the MIT License. This is an unusual request -- but I hope a few will be willing to help out, so we can distribute this game easily & teach each other JavaScript.
    • Thanks!
We will develop a very easy to use plug in together if we decide to go ahead with this.
Looking forward to working with you!

I think it is a good idea to do a small game to test one single mechanic.

If you are looking for artists, you are unlikely to get them on this part of the forum. I suggest that you have a look at Project Recruitment (you can read the Rules and Guidelines here) and think about making a thread there.
