After a few painstaking days of programming and testing, I have three minigames completed. They're part of a carnival at the royal city of my world. These will be in the demo comng out in a few weeks, I just want to see what people think of my ideas and the presentation so far. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! None of the tunnels are completely random - I want people to figure out a pathway to the mirror room, which has three entrances and multiple ways to reach them. The fireballs each kick you back to a different room, too. That first, looping room is also nine duplicate exits that take you all over, with only subtle differences in the junk around them, and five ways to get in there that look alike but aren't. So it'll seem pretty random I think

I'll probably add a high score system with better prizes for 3rd, 2nd, & 1st, and NPCs already holding the places - little sidequest to beat them all. So in the funhouse's case, you get a big reward for figuring out the quickest route!

I love that way of portraying difficulty in the first one, that's some high quality creativity there.
Also they seem really fun by themselves. A good sign for a minigame indeed.

Thanks so much! That IS a good sign then - was planning about 12 minigames with difficulty levels (every town and farm will have a game) and a quest to beat every level of each

I really love those mini games! Very creative and I like that you added difficulties in the first one. I'm trying to make mini games myself, but I'm honestly not very good at it lol. Looking forward to your demo, I will definitely play it!

I'm usually like, naah, minigames, but orb runner looks pretty fun! Funhouse just looks confusing, I can totally see myself rage quitting after, like, two tries. :kaoswt:

I can see your dedication to making this, especially the funhouse.
I was skeptical at first, but this has potential.

If you plan to improve or add more levels, better start making the base template for each feature.
It will be a pain to do them manually in the future and those templates will help you in long run.

Oh thanks a lot! They will all have difficulty levels once the demo is ready, they just need a bit more work when I can get to it

Aye yeah, usually I don't care for minigames much either, wanted to make sure mine have a lot of movement and action, though the funhouse is really just a frustrating, timed dungeon - not for everyone, but I'll add difficulty levels to it, too

Well thanks very much! That funhouse did take more effort than I was expecting - it was the biggest inspiration for the song, too, since I was picturing running around the funhouse when I put it together.

Yeah, I'm using common events for some minigame things, and a map with backups and space to experiment. I also want one of my farm games ready for the demo, which'll be picking different types of vegetables as they grow around a maze; I can use orb runner as a template to make the veges appear.

Next big thing is a minecart ride, which I believe I can create as planned, but haven't started quite yet

I was wondering where the assets are from?

very cool. i feel like the easy modes for them should be designed more for people that dont like sprinting. im pretty sure that for most of us the sprinting isnt an issue, but i also know some people that love retro style games but have issues with how touchy the sprinting can be. (my mom for example would love that fun house maze but despises sprinting.)

Hmm, I haven't seen Alundra before, just looked up some maps and they're similar to my dungeon designs, yeah.

All the assets in this one are from the game or recolours I did. I think the only original stuff I made here is the spinning gears and wheeled chests

Ah, you're right, I should have more games with less sprints. Guess I went with my more active games first, but there's some slower minigames planned, like some casino games, and a minecart ride where you just guide it left and right. I'm going to add difficulty levels to the funhouse too, with the easy mode removing the fast obstacles (and maybe hard will have a spotlight)

Been sick with a stomach virus for seven days now. Not going to work tomorrow because I'm still contagious according to my doctor.
Much as I love my job, I really hate playing "office politics". It would be nice if I didn't have to pretend to be someone else all day long.
I wanna get back into showing off Battlers and other assets I create again. But i'm always haunted by the "It's not good/realistic enough" voices that keep me from doing so.

Maybe I should get back to it, I did enjoy showing off whatever I came up with!
