I'm looking for a sprite (if there's more than one, even better) done in a minimal stile, just few basic colors, with realistic proportion, not chibi.
For instance, something like this
SsADSADA.jpg
which is taken from Canabalt. It doesn't have to be black and white, color is fine. Any help is welcome!

Hmm. What's your engine and what tiles are you using?

Doh! I use MV, and I'm considering drawing my own tiles as the game is meant to be relatively simple and repetitive

Do you have a size preference then?

Not really? I've started sketching the basics, and I think 36 px tall would work well, but to be honest I'm still in a research phase so what I'm looking for at the moment is what other people have done

I'm asking because I don't think it currently exists but I'm mildly interested in giving it a go myself.

Gah, I meant 72 pixel tall. I've been working with a 36x72 grid.

I've done some research, looking for what as been done before

I love the way colors are used in Oneshot, but I'm well aware I'd never be able to pull off something like that.

I've also been drawing a bit, and it made me realize more details about what I need for this project: the sprite has to be neutral-looking, not distinctly male or female. I am ok with slightly chibi-looking proportion, like the bigger head, it's just the overly compressed proportion of the default MV sprites that bothers me.

I'm actually quite happy with my efforts, even if they need more work, it's just that I don't think the sprite and the map work well together :headshake:

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
