I just noticed that the size of my project folder is about 150MB, but the size of a back-up copy folder I took around a week ago is about 450MB. I went to look and I saw that there are folders missing. Like at least the animations folder was missing from my project folder and some other ones too. But still when I run the game test it plays those animations? So it's finding them from somewhere else? But if so, why was the animations folder (and others) in my project folder a week ago when I took the back up copy? Has there been some kind of update, or is my whole game starting to get messed up? I put my game on the C-drive in a folder, so it shouldn't be connected to any cloud-services that could mess it up.

is there a folder named www inside your project folder?

if yes (there shouldn't be) then you either made and restored a deployed project version from backup, or deployed your game into your project folder, damaging it.

the www folder is deployment only, and you must never deploy into your project folder - deployment needs to go into a different output folder.

in any case, to help you repair your project we need to see what folders you have now, so a screenshot of your project folder would help.

No, at least I didn't see a www folder. I'll attach a picture of my project folder (and image folder). To save space I cut out the different character json files from project folder.

PS. Can this have something to do with STEAM? I completely forgot that they have their own cloud service...don't know what that does. But surely it couldn't remove folders from my project folder? I'll have to go and turn that off, but if that's what's causing the problem, can turning it suddenly off cause more problems?

That looks rather like user error - because there is nothing missing from those screenshots.

what are those folders you believe to be missing?

Well shouldn't the img folder at least have animations folder? That's at least missing and the first thing I noticed. Probably some other things are also missing, I haven't checked everything yet (something else has to be missing because folder size is smaller...and I myself have not removed anything from there). Also, how is my game when playtesting playing those animations when the animation folder isn't there? Where is it accessing the information?

no, not for MZ as those are now in the effects folder.

that might change with the 1.4.0 update from today as that reintroduced the old animation options to MZ, but no MZ project prior to today had an animation folder (only MV and older had them)

Ok, it seems I have messed something up (a guy who I've bought assets from uses MV, so I've gotten something mixed). I'll have to check things out. Maybe I'm just paranoid because when I started I lost some data to OneDrive file corruption. Anyway, thanks for helping out with answers.

Another night, another game dev stream in about 20 minutes or so.

I've been busy. Warming up so I don't forget how to draw.

I'd make a joke about the post office, but I'm afraid you won't get it.
I've been on a really good streak lately of working on my game for at least a little bit each day. Even if I only complete one small task, it is still a much better pace than what I was maintaining previously!
