So you think it would still work though if someone decided to transition to a dungeon done with all the dungeon tile set from a field map that was all RTP?
Probably. I imagine most players wouldn't have an issue with it.

It's hard to say without seeing the maps, though.

@bgillisp:

I'm afraid right now I'm still just trying to find faces for my playable characters.

@Susan:

Thanks. I'll look those up

It's a pain that so little matches up. I guess it's good for creating a bunch of different styles, but if you're someone talentless like me it's hard to make a game with any kind of originality using stuff that already exists. It seems like those are the kind of people free resources should be targeted at anyway.

Resource tiles packs to date that fit in with Ace RTP

- Samurai Packsame artist :

- Modern Day

- Modern Shop

- Arabian Nights

- Zombie Survival

- Futuristic Tiles

same artist :

- Wild West Tiles

- Dungeons & Volcanoes

- Royal Tiles

- Evil Castle Tiles

- Halloween Tiles

Some pack may look like they are in compatible due to :

1) color contrast, saturation - adjustable in an image proccesing software.

2) created for different time and settings - you don't expect to find a shiny UFO underneath a 12th century castle, do you? Well, maybe you do...

3) individual artist's stylistic differences - nothing major, just try avoid using them in the same map.

I'm kind of a nitpicker about visuals, so I've had to make myself pass on some truly gorgeous tiles because they didn't really fit the RTP or anything else.

I started making my own versions of the RTP battlers because I had to make battlers for monsters the RTP didn't supply.

Sadly, I suck at tilework.

Couldn't you use a placeholder face for now? I've been doing that, figuring I'll fix if if/when the game is completed. That way you aren't held up waiting on graphics and can work on the game while the graphics are found.

Your battlers and face edits look great though.

You'll be able to make nice tiles one day.

Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
