I prefer the outlined one. The one without looks like it's blurry and fading and blending into the surface it's on. The outline separates it from the background.
I just downloaded the "walk around" today - and what you have done, even in the the little bit you've shared, is pretty impressive. The whole thing is very nice eye candy (I really like your mapping - especially the house interiors and shops.) And while you can tell its an RPG Maker-ish game, it has a very nice "unique" feel to the whole thing. Don't really have any constructive criticism to offer at this point - be a bit premature, but am def. looking forward to the demo. You can tell a LOT a LOT of work went into this and I was already a fan of sim/strategy - "Harvest Moon" like games and so I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy this. Well done thus far and give yourself a pat on the back for what was obviously a lot of time and energy into creating it!
Hey I played your demo! It's really nice and unique. Here are my notes I took down as I played.
The music in this game is absolutely grand. Happy yet immediately nostalgic.
Everything in this is so custom-made. Even the title screen is great and custom-made
Some small capitalization errors. I don't think "Job", "Amnesia", "Lumber Shed" and words like that should be capitalized just because they are important, but the English is generally satisfactory. Could do with a proofreader, perhaps?
This is a very happy game. It's designed to be a safe haven from the troubles of real life and it is succeeding.
Even for a peaceful game, the pace is way too slow. I know that you want to preserve the ambience by making walk speed slower but it just doesn't work most of the time. Sometimes people want to run you know?
I can tell the game has depth.
I wish equipping an object was easier than pressing *A*. If only it was in the main menu like I'm used to.
Farming is really fun already.
I got sick and got teleported to the next day. I like how in this game you can create your own stories.
I named my chicken "Henny". I'm probably going to forget to feed him though.
I am not a big fan of the "Achievement Unlocked". It ruins the immersion in my opinion.
I gave my boyfriend chicken feed and he rejected it. Now I can't give him another gift I didn't mean to be mean to him. Good thing though.
The Quest Journal is somewhat useful. I wish it told me where to go though and be more specific.
I forgot if there was a wait button. It'd be useful if there was.
There is literally so much to do here.
I don't like how it forces you to sleep. Usually I'm going to sleep at 10am now. Because I can only do one quest. I don't think you should just be able to do one quest by itself.
Anyway, I stopped playing after 5 minutes because I have to study for my exam. It seems really open and sandbox-y so far! Good work. I plan to spend more time on this when I get the chance and I will give you my feedback when I get back to it.
Great job Myla, you must have great love for game such as Rune Factory and Harvest moon to dedicate so much time for this one. You sprite and script all by yourself or you pulled resources from many other places and put them together?
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!
Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
