I played it since the beta till a few months ago. Is just not what it use to be anymore.

Perfect World was fun for exactly 1 reason:

I miss my lobster.
I think the first mmo I played was Tibia when it came out, since then I played countless mmos. To me is like they all got something good but they also have something that will get you annoyed.

I wouldn't count LoL as an MMORPG.  It might have certain RPG elements in it, but that's the case of lots of non-roleplaying games.

Played FFXI for years, gave me some of my best times growing up even though it was all with people across the world whose faces I had never seen. That game just had a special ability to build a much better community than most MMOs ever have (and as much as people complain about the forced party mechanics, I think that's a very big part of why the community was so good - you had to rely on each other, so there wasn't much room for being a jerk and expecting to get anywhere - it still happened, but it happened way less than in most other games).

It's kind of hard to explain why it felt so different to people who have never played it, but it's always been that way to me (and I hear similar things from most people who play FFXI then go out into other MMOs like WoW or Guild Wars).

One of the japanese players on my server made a series of videos of memories from playing the game back in the day. It's spot on too. Just watching some of the scenes brings back all kinds of nostalgia (especially because I actually remember some of the people in the video):

Ah I know that kind of feeling lol.

Really sucks when you realize it's been years, wondering where many of these strangers who used to be your guildies drifted to in life~

Someone from the server where I started playing RO made this.Similar to yours.

This video is like. 5 years old.

The only MMORPG game I played a lot was Star Wars: The Old Republic... I never really thought of buying any MMORPG, but when I heard there was gonna be a Star Wars MMO (a good one, unlike the older... don't remember the nme) I just had to get it! (I'm a huge Star Wars fan)

Hm... the only thing remotely close to a MMO I really played was a Minecraft server... does that count? :)

@Seacliff-chan

Not even remotely close though does Minecraft even count as an RPG in game genre standards?

RO was amazing, but RO2 just is another MMO.

WoW got old though I wouldn't mind putting a few screws in the developers on how they completely destroyed the whole system in WoW.

Guild Wars 2 is fun as it is and those whole world events are fun as reading my Shounen Jump Weeklies.

DC Universe is okay to an extent.

League of Legends is also fun though in certain situations my team would lose, but hey it wasn't my fault.

Tried playing FF Online, but the patcher loaded slow and there was an error in the middle of the installment so I gave my computer an extra set of screws and didn't attempt to install it again.

I played minecraft almost every day for nearly 2 years... a majority of the time on servers. I can tell you that that's not an RPG. The RPG plugins for servers do take it closer to an RPG, but still...

I played FFXI From release date till about 2 years ago, Played WOW since release, stopped a few months ago.  Also short lived ones were Maplestory, Everquest, Star Trek Online, Dungeons and Dragons online, Shaiya, Perfect World, Jade Empire, Eden Eternal, Last Chaos, and a few others not worth mentioning.

I've been playing Ragnarok online 2 for about a week now. Its pretty fun so far though I haven't spent that much time on it. And I'm drooling for the day when Elder Scrolls Online comes out...... I will probably dissappear from the forums when that happens for at least a few months. :p

I have a bad habit of playing a game and hitting the level cap then getting bored with it.

I think a lot of us starting out with Runescape. I played Dragon Saga for a while, Trickster online, Fiesta and Elsword.

I tried Tera out recently and while I like the combat mechanics I don't care for the world at all. It's just flat and boring.

I'm waiting for WildStar to come out. It looks snazzy.

I started with City of Heroes back in the day. Loved that game. Since then, I've tried a lot of them, but have stuck with none.

EVE Online hooked me the longest, but I soon realized the vast amount of time spent doing nothing in that game was not proportional to the few moments of OMGHOLYSHI- awesomes.

Guild Wars 2 was great for a while... until I maxed my character and got bored. Sad day. Still looking for one, I guess.

Star Trek Online and Star Wars The Old Republic are the two online games that I pay and play.

Whatever you do, just avoid Aeria games.

!
Oops. Too late. I played Elsword for like five minutes. Haven't touched it since.

Let's see, Runescape, Rusty Hearts, Perfect World International, and a whole crap ton of others I played like once then quit. I also vaguely remember a game called Dofus, I'm pretty sure it was an MMORPG...

And from the questions in the first post, I love them, but wouldn't spend a dime on any of that subscription or member stuff.

I think I'm starting to fall out of playing MMORPG's.  I mean, I had lots of fun...and raged a lot too...in different MMO's, but I just can't seem to do it anymore.  The time consumption is just too much, along with the microtransactions.  Fly For Fun was my very first MMORPG back in 2006, then I tried MapleStory...for about 5 minutes before logging off and never going back again.  Tried RO, DOMO and Rohan.  I eventually went back to FlyFF, then when Gpotato (the company hosting FlyFF) got Tales Runner, I tried it out, LOVED it and then eventually I left due to new types of people coming into it that killed the spirit of the game.  It shut down for...reasons...and there's talks of it coming back.  I was excited, but it took WAY too long and their management sucks now.

I eventually tried and stayed with Aion from NCSoft, but I did try TERA after a while, when they were still P2P and I started Aion when it was P2P as well.  That was when it was awesome.  Now, I just can't seem to get into it, or any other MMORPG for that matter, so I've decided to just do other things.  IF the mood strikes me, I may try FFXIV: ARR, but not sure.  There are other MMO's I might try, but I'm not really sure if I want to at this point and even if I did, I'd become just a casual player instead of the dedicated player I used to be.

OH!  I did play ROSE Online and it's fun.  A grindfest, not unlike FlyFF, but with a better EXP curve and really nice stuff that can be bought in-game.  It got boring as well, but still, I MAY go back to it...one day...MAYBE.  Very big maybe.  By this point, MMORPG's, for me, are just stagnent.  Too many elitists, stereotypical culture clashing players and developers that just don't listen to their players.  Ah well.  Here's to the future.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
