I think I'm starting to fall out of playing MMORPG's. I mean, I had lots of fun...and raged a lot too...in different MMO's, but I just can't seem to do it anymore. The time consumption is just too much, along with the microtransactions. Fly For Fun was my very first MMORPG back in 2006, then I tried MapleStory...for about 5 minutes before logging off and never going back again. Tried RO, DOMO and Rohan. I eventually went back to FlyFF, then when Gpotato (the company hosting FlyFF) got Tales Runner, I tried it out, LOVED it and then eventually I left due to new types of people coming into it that killed the spirit of the game. It shut down for...reasons...and there's talks of it coming back. I was excited, but it took WAY too long and their management sucks now.
I eventually tried and stayed with Aion from NCSoft, but I did try TERA after a while, when they were still P2P and I started Aion when it was P2P as well. That was when it was awesome. Now, I just can't seem to get into it, or any other MMORPG for that matter, so I've decided to just do other things. IF the mood strikes me, I may try FFXIV: ARR, but not sure. There are other MMO's I might try, but I'm not really sure if I want to at this point and even if I did, I'd become just a casual player instead of the dedicated player I used to be.
OH! I did play ROSE Online and it's fun. A grindfest, not unlike FlyFF, but with a better EXP curve and really nice stuff that can be bought in-game. It got boring as well, but still, I MAY go back to it...one day...MAYBE. Very big maybe. By this point, MMORPG's, for me, are just stagnent. Too many elitists, stereotypical culture clashing players and developers that just don't listen to their players. Ah well. Here's to the future.
