hello, hopefully somebody can answer two questions I have about a project that I am doing and that I think may be infringing the EULA.

1- Can I use the modern rpg maker MV tilesets in the VX ACE if I resized them by hand and configured them in the database?
Because I am mapping by hand tile by tile the pre-designed modern maps that come in the MV on the VX ACE.

2- My project consists of uploading this project open with all the modern maps preloaded for those who use VX ACE and do not have the capacity to map cities and that type of maps using web tilesets. In synthesis it is for users who want a modern story but are limited by the VX ACE medieval stuff.
I can do this?

P.D: I ask in advance not to cause problems. Thanks for read!

Yes you can do it if, and only if, you own both MV and VX Ace.
Under the terms of the EULA you are able to use any resource from a RPGMaker engine you own in any other RPGMaker engine you own.

I'm confused about #2 though. To me, it sounds like you are saying you want to distribute an open file Ace project with MV maps/tilesets so that those who own Ace, but not MV can use the MV maps/tiles.

If this is the case, NO you cannot do that. The person using the MV materials would have to own MV as well, in order to use the materials. Purchasing the program also grants you a license to use the materials. So, if you've not purchased MV, you do not have a license to use MV materials.

If you are sharing the open project with others who own Ace and MV, then yes, you can do that.

I own both Ace and MV. I've managed to export The Ace Battle sprites and port them over to MV so that I could have more monster options. Along those lines, I would like to know if that's acceptable.

OmnislashXX, this is not your thread, and you are not asking the same question as the OP - that's called hijacking. But if you search through the forum, you would find that yes, if you won both Ace and MV, you can use Ace resources in MV and you can use MV resources in Ace. The OP is talking about sharing with others.

OP, what are the "modern" tilesets you are referring to? Just the RTP that comes with MV? Or do you mean a resource pack you've purchased in the store? If it's the RTP, you've already been answered (only people who own both Ace and MV can use them). If it's a resource pack, you cannot share it at all, unless the people you're sharing with have also purchased that resource pack in addition to owning Ace and MV.

The modern tilesets are part of the MV I suppose, they were there when the acquired ones do not seem to be part of a resource pack ... On the other hand, I consider when editing the tilesets of the MV so that they fit in the VX ACE it is not the original graphics anymore (there are edited) and anyway how could I know if the user that is going to download the project has the license of both programs?

You can't, which is why legally, you cannot do this.

From the EULA:

Modification of Company Materials (changes in color, size, orientation, trimming, etc.) shall be solely for the purpose of use in User Games created with the Software.
And to clarify what "User Games" is:

Article 5: Licensing
The Company shall license use of the Software as follows limited to cases where the User is a Licensed User.
1. Creation of original games (henceforth, “User Games”) using the Software (including the computer programs comprising the Software) and the materials (referring to text, music, images, etc., henceforth, “Company Materials”) recorded in the Software. Furthermore, the User cannot record or use, etc. Company Materials in the original games they create using creation tools, etc. they created or provided by third parties without obtaining the Company’s advance written consent.

It doesn't matter if it's for commercial or not.

And to clarify - you can do this for yourself. But you may not openly distribute it.

You can make a game with them and distribute the game, but the assets have to be protected who whoever plays your game can't export them and use them.

You can't give the assets to others to use in their own games, which it sounds like what you're wanting to do, because you don't have any way of knowing whether they have both licenses or not.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
