Modern Resources - TileSets & CharSets

Hello guys,

I am looking for many modern resources. There are plenty of fantasy resources and also fantasy stuff. But I am looking for modern resources from our actual era. I know Granny´s List of modern stuff, but there is much sci-fi stuff and many links in the modern thread are dead.

So I am looking for any modern graphic resource I can get. I mainly need a varied interior (would REALLY like to have nice windows with blinds, also looking for windows that have wall-height) without girly looking bedrooms. The project I need them for will have a huge touch of modern noir, so you know the direction I am heading to. Can go from middle class appartments to penthouses.

I´d also need modern CharSets. Guys in leather jackets, suits, modern casual clothing, girls in modern clothing and classy modern dresses. They shouldn´t look like the typical Resident Evil Rip-Off.

The project will be developed in the RPG Maker MV, but I´d like to have VX Ace resources that I can convert.

Tbh, it would be better to get RMMV resources straight away as enlarging VXA tiles usually (if not always) results in a loss of quality (i.e. blurry image).

It is better to have something you can shrink instead of something you have to enlarge.

Yes, VXA-style. The MV style looks a bit "too childish" for me, with the chibi-like characters, etc.

It is better to have something you can shrink instead of something you have to enlarge.

But there are no good modern resources for MV yet. And with the correct enlargement-settings in Photoshop (know how to do that, I´m a designer), you won´t have any Blur. Also there is a good online-converter for Ace to MV which also doesn´t cause Blur.

But if you have some awesome modern MV resources that fall under the description I gave above, I´d also be glad.

I just went through granny's list here and right at the bottom of the OP, there's a couple of links with very good material. I suggest you check through again o.o'

1. This has a complete list of a variety of modern type resources; you just have to scroll through and bookmark the ones you like.

2. Granny's post here lists a number of modern type vehicles. A particularly good site is this one because it has a plethora of vehicles. Granny mentions it's okay for commercial usage too but you can check if you want to.

3. Supercow has a huge tileset featuring modern resources here but they're mostly in XP style. No harm in checking though.

What else are you missing?

The proplem is, that most of these are EXterior and vehicles. But I need as many INterior and CharSets as possible

Woops! My bad, but I've found a few of those for you too :

1. Candacis has some pretty good modern interior tiles here. Check under Tiles > Interior and Tiles > A2. The former has some nice interior tiles for a pub, a jewellery store and a casino, and the latter has some nice modern-looking floors.

2. Leila has some pretty interior tiles here.

3. Granny has listed some japanese-themed interior resources here and some of them are modern. An example would be the public bath tiles posted here.

4. Celianna parallax tileset thread has some stuff you might like, and also a refrigerator and a washing machine.

One of the BEST asset packs is DS+ (that plus is significant since there is DS and DS+ and they are different. Neither the Retro sci fi! You have to be careful.)

DS PLUS is a pack that fills the void for futuristic and modern stuff in a good way actually and it has plenty of resources.

It isn't cheap but neither too expensive so you should take a look.

OH! And it is on an 80% discount on Steam.

Speaking of steam sales and DLC, another resource pack you could check out is the Modern Day Tiles. It's on sale on steam for 99 pence (link). It has quite a few different types of doors, a garbage dumpster, traffic lights, and the indoor tileset has a nifty compilation of kitchen, bathroom and bedroom tiles. That is, in addition to the usual walls, floors, and exterior tiles.

Another interesting resource pack would be the Futuristic Tiles (link). Like the name suggests, it has mostly science fiction themed resources mixed in with a few modern type ones. A couple of examples would include, a siren, a manhole, billboard, neon signs, desk lamps, pc and laptop, stereo, toilet rolls (*chuckle chuckle*), analog clocks, and tons more.

I've provided a screenshot as an example of what you create with a combo of these two resource packs.
