EDIT: I realized now that the <exit shop> thing might be what I'm talking about already, so I'll have to try that out later when I get back on the computer...

^ I'm using this script for a special shop in my game.

After purchasing an item from the common event shop, I want the shop window to automatically close. I don't want the normal shop scene in the game to do this. JUST the common event shop. All I am asking for is for the common event shop window to close automatically after buying one thing. The following is just an explanation for why I need this, that way you can also tell me if my method I have in mind is flawed. I haven't tried this yet. This is just how I envision for it to work. I don't want to attempt this unless I know it'll work. So please tell me if this will or will not work before editing the script. Because likewise, I don't want you to take and effort the time to modify that script for me, only for it to not work for me, after all. It'll be a waste of time for everyone involved, which I don't want to happen, I'll feel bad.

This is the purpose that I'm hoping this script can fulfill:

  • Player talks to the skill shop person and selects buy skills. I have tried skill shop scripts, (such as Casper Gaming's) and they don't work properly for what I'm trying to do with the shop for several reasons. The biggest reason being it's a dual skill shop, where it teaches set skills to two party members that use the attack together. To achieve that, I'm using this script by DoubleX.
  • Common event shop screen appears.
  • The player buys one common event. There will be a common event for each skill. (there are 4 of such skills total right now, so there are 4 common events. There will also be a switch assigned to each common event. There will also be a variable for each skill. The common event you buy raises the corresponding variable by one when purchased.)  The shop scene closes instantly. ONLY the common event shop. I don't want it to do this for the normal shop. There are 4 skills RIGHT NOW, but later on there will be way more, and likewise way more common events and switches that will be assigned to each buyable skill. The switches are turned on (the player cannot buy a skill unless the corresponding switch for it is on) during the game as the player progresses.
  • The shop person teaches the skill in a cutscene which follows automatically after the common event shop scene closes. The cutscene initiated will depend on which variable was raised by 1. The corresponding switch assigned to the skill is turned off permanently, to prevent it from ever being able to be purchased again. The skill is then added to the appropriate party members manually through eventing, within said cutscene. Another variable is then added to the skill's variable to make it 2, because the cutscene will only activate for the one skill whose respective variable is 1.

So, is this method reasonable? Is there any simpler way to do this?

If so, and if there isn't a simpler way, could someone edit the common event shop script so the common event shop scene will always close after something is purchased? Thank you in advance.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
