a.k.a Pokemon Essentials MV

GENERAL TALK

Hello Guys, I'm Working on a Pokemon Essentials for MV, After Millions of Entries in Actors, Classes, and Items I realised that It's not possible for me alone to do this humongous task, not as of I was thinking it to take a couple of weeks to release.

ENGINE

RPG Maker MV v 1.5.1​

SYNOPSIS
To get Info about the Features of this Project, check Spoilers
1. Pokemon Battle System, not Pokemon Aside Trainer Battles
2.1000+ Pokemons [{Animated} including Mega Evolution, Alt. Forms, Primal Forms, etc.]
3. Mega Stones (Of course), Z - Crystals
4. HD Move Animations.
5. Z - Moves (if possible)
6. All Items seen till Sun Moon
7. Pokemon Tilesets, and Pre-made Maps.
8. Pokemon : Cries, Battle Music, Title Screen, etc.
9. Pokemon Style Experience System (Types: Slow, Medium Slow, Medium Fast, Fast, Erradic, Fluctuating)
10. 18 Elements (changeable)
11. Berry System, Fishing System, etc.

1. Creative Director (responsible for the overall look and feel of the Game Project)
2. Game Designer (devise what the Game Project consists of and how it plays, defining all the core elements)
3. Audio Engineer (create the soundtrack for a Game Project, including Music, Sound effects, Battle Music, and spoken instructions)
4. Artist (GameArt: CharacterSheet, Moves Animation, Itemset, etc.)
5. Mapper/Level Editor (Designing Sample Levels)

On another RPG Maker MV Forum, a user by the name of Shiggy seems to be able to do pretty well. He helped create a quick plugin for me a while back, otherwise I dont know many people yet that work with this.

But only if you know how implemented those in the Project because I'm already Struggling with the current Plugins and Game Module.
And I'm not willing to Fuse my Mind :dizzy:in new things, at least not now?

Wow! This is an amazing project! :kaojoy:
Some months ago, I was creating a project inspired to the pokemon games of the second generation. At the time, I had created some of the main scenes (Menu, Inventory, pokemon scene, title screen,save screen etc..) and I left the project when I was developing the pokemon main object and classes, because I'm really busy.
For the developing, I used a lot the pokemon api that contains all the information related to the pokemon games as JSON packages. This make the development very easy, because using xmlhttprequest you can catch all the information and use them in your project.

This is a very interesting & well thought out game.

A few comments:
  1. You are going to need at least one more, and probably two more programmers on your team.
  2. You have a really great vision ... and will need an equally great team to execute it.
  3. I do not believe you should name it "Pokemon", they have probably trademarked that name ...

@Bricius I will make a To-do list, don't worry. Actually the work is going pretty slow at the moment. As I'm the One Man Team. :stare:

@Joy Diamond but I don't have any Programer yet. Is there anyone you know and willing to work on a free project. And to answer your second suggestion, I actually adopted the Idea of Naming it Pokemon Essentials MV from Pokemon Essentials XP.
Nintendo, Game Freak haven't sued them so I thought it would work.

@Rishi Raj Jain I know enough about JavaScript as well as the general scripting of MV to know what code can and cannot exist, so in that sense I can be the technical artist (though I have very little to no actual writing experience in java). As for the sprites, I did a while ago use some sprites I found that seemed to be gen 4/5 based with their overworld sprites. https://veekun.com/dex/downloads <--That website has sprites for gens 1-5, even items, footprints, and a few other goodies drastically cutting down the ones left to be made (from what I can see, they are directly from the games themselves to boot like the essentials for XP). To my knowledge, their overworld sprites also come with multiple photos/captures so they can be animated easy enough in MV.

Without getting into some long post that I really cant actually do (because as I said, I have little no writing experience) I have tried for myself in the past to get Java to work with servers, and it just falls flat unless the server also had a script to allow it to work as well. It can read things from a server in plain text, but it cant write, translate, do commands, or other things without a reactive component on the server side. So this MV thing could be done to include IP-Direct Connect for trades and battles and things, but you couldnt easily do a large multi-player server setup.

In short, let me rephrase. I know what hooks/events do and do not exist between the program and java and what would work decent-well enough for getting an artist's idea to program, but I couldnt do this myself. Thankfully, Java is still very versatile.

Because of the nature of MV, the best solution is to provide a direct IP connect for your game to search. If that game is found to be running on the IP (without interference from pesky firewalls and the usual stuff from direct connections), then you can start up a trade room or action or menu or something for them to pick from, and its final part for say trading is writing down what happened on one side (say the host), and copying down on the other. You may be able to get away with file transfer, but that might be a bit bigger then just simple copy/paste data commands. Youll also need a side script to this to make sure it performs the actions because I think the way MV is setup, itll just read it, not complete it.
