Not to be confused with an earlier concept regarding yo-kai, but that can be umbrella'd into this category.

In my project, there's a part where you have to slay a vampire shogun and fight through a bunch of ghosts and monsters in his hellish fief. Thanks to that Samurai Resources bundle for VX/Ace (MVFU'd the tiles and sprites, natch), I was able to procure two types of oni (red and blue), my vampire shogun, a rokurokubi, and an onibi.

I'm wondering what other sort of undead stuff could be used as enemies for this section. May look to Castlevania for some influences.

What about Jiangshi, vampyric 'hopping' zombies from Chinese folklore.

a Gashadokuro from Japanese mythology maybe?
there are also Funayūrei AKA the dead spirits from the sea I think.
And then Hitodama which are souls of the dead that have separated from their bodies.
Maybe that helps, maybe it doesn't...:kaoswt:

@MobileSuitSonic At the moment, this looks like a thread asking only about a specific, individual game. 'General Discussion', however, is not for that, though obviously you can use your project as an example. Therefore, if suggestions are made which do not fit with your game but are still on-topic, that's fine, just let the discussion broaden out.

I've got an Asian-inspired project in the works too, and these monsters fit perfectly with my theme. You'll have to download the two .zips to get them, and they seem to be made for older RPG Makers, so they're quite pixelated, but hopefully they'll provide some inspiration for you to create your own enemies. http://neko.moo.jp/BS/main/4/index.htm

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
